Achieve Academic Success in World History with This Comprehensive Notebook

Catherine Holt: I purchased this book to give my daughter an overview of World History. It was excellent. It was well organized and detailed. I also liked the fact that it was not biased like previous history books . I consider myself well-read, but was surprised by how much I learned about the history of cultures around the world. I have several Everything You Need To Ace books. Love them. The Science for Middle School one is really good too.

amarvalous: I highly recommend this book. I home school my 13 year old son and this book is a great snap shot of the world timeline. It is not a training book that goes into great detail. Instead it covers just what it needs to cover so a child or anyone for that matter can have a foundation understanding of each event. I will say that it does follow suit like most books on history and in the most subtle ways over shadows and omits history in regards to black people contributions and which people and civilizations were black. Then again that is not the scope of this book hence why I still gave it 5 stars. A great teaching tool to be combined with videos on YouTube as well as research done on the parents part in regards to each event in history to give the child a completely balanced learning experience on all people, places and things written in the book. Excellent!

Glovernotafighter: Really very useful for an overview of history for a teacher to read and understand the overall surface level survey of history from a student’s style note-taking format. University level history goes too deep for teaching middle school students so it’s great to step back and get a broader view of history that you could actually use in a classroom.

jabeenjabeen: Among all other ancient civilizations, how is it that ancient Persia didn't deserve to be in the list in this book. Ancient Persia and ancient Rome were always competing and budding heads. How can it be omitted.
The information on timeline is inaccurate about divide of Muslims in two groups. The books says the divide happened after the 3rd caliph when in reality the disagreement mentioned took place at the time of Prophet's death. Picture included.
No information on the civilization of Native Americans, only mentions colonization of Americas. Negative depiction of Spanish invaders in South America. Positive depiction of British invaders in North America.

The book is laid out well but lacks a lot of information. The information is biased and cherry picked. Secular and supports evolution.
