ACDelco GM OE 10-4014 Friction Modified Synchromesh Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart

Gray Malkmus: Replaced the OEM Honda MTF in my 2019 Civic Si. It took 2 quarts of fluid. Immediately noticeable smooth shifts and quiet operation. Eliminated gear whine in reverse. No lockouts. 5,000 miles later, still performing wonderfully and in 10,000 miles I will replace this fluid with the same stuff! Huge upgrade from Honda MTF. Give it a shot!

Anthony P.: Was having issues with the 5 speed in my datsun 620 whining and being sticky in 4th/5th gear. After reading about this oil in some forums I gave it a try. Drained the old 75/90 gear oil and pumped in this synchromesh oil. The bottle says 75w but this oil is nowhere near that, it's more of an ATF fluid consistency which is nice for hand pumping it into the trans. After 100 miles my trans noise decreased significantly and after 250 miles my sticking 4th and 5th gear were operating normally again. Very impressed with this fluid.

Quinten Sorice: Changing to this fluid at 20k miles on my FK8 made a noticeable difference in shift quality across the board. 1-2 has been fine for me, this made it even better (still have to go slower than other changes, but it's not as notchy anymore). The most noticeable difference is actually high-rpm shifts, they are more consistently smooth for all gears.

My car took just over 2 quarts of the stuff. Would say for FK8 owners, get 3 quarts and hold onto the unfinished third bottle for future changes.

Ethan B Feldman: It gets really cold in Minnesota in the winter and shifting a manual gearbox is nearly impossible when you first start off. I've been looking for a cold weather option but none have worked better than any. Even this, which is supposedly a best-kept secret. Shifts are a little better but second gear when cold is still a huge pain. Would not go out of my way to recommend even though it's pretty reasonable for the price.

Aaron: 2000 VW Jetta TDI GLS 02J Trans 157,000 miles (pretty sure factory fill or maybe one change during previous ownership)
Excellent fluid that is actually thicker than VW's version of 75W-90. G070 (VW newest revision of MTF) has a cSt of about 6.4 with this stuff at around 9.0. Honda and Acura owners swear by this stuff with a majority of TDICLUB members agreeing on how good it is. The price on Amazon is unbeatable for me. $27/quart at the GM Dealership? No thank you. I actually ran the G070 for a little while and had nothing but issues in traffic. I live in Hawaii and the gearbox would get awfully hot when sitting in traffic. When it was getting hot I was getting shifting issues, 1st gear was almost locked out during a 3 hour stint of traffic!
Once I refilled with this stuff I was blown away. The G070 was good when the trans was cold and mediocre when warmed up, but this stuff… I took a quick test drive and was shocked, it shifted like butter when cold. I didn’t think it was going to get any better as the G070 did okay when cold. Once the trans was warmed up, all issues were resolved. No more lock outs, no more grinding and no notchy shifts.
