Diana Alzina: excelente compra

Travelin' Wilbury: Great portable luggage scale for traveling. Handle grip makes it easy to lift and weigh luggage. Minimal number of functions makes it easy to use. Accuracy pretty good based on weighing some items of known weight. One caution: When weighing, take the slack out of the scale strap and lift luggage in a steady fluid motion, otherwise you can get variable readings that might differ by 0.5 to 1 pounds if you jerk it too fast and hard. Suggest taking the average of 3-5 different weighings to get final luggage weight.

Magic Mint: First, the scale is very functional and intuitive and serves the purpose well for me. I have been using this for over 5 years and got few more for parents and in-laws, as this is a very essential item to measure luggage weight before you travel. They have also been happy.

Now for the product considerations-
WEIGHT READING: The READINGS are ACCURATE and I have generally not had a problem. 9 out of 10 times the reading matches well with what the airport luggage scale reads. The only times I have had some mismatch was when weight is not measured correctly – ex: I saw my father trying to weigh his luggage but his body was touching the luggage itself, leading to some inaccuracy.
The readings start showing up as you pick up the weight and would stay for some time if you hold the luggage a few seconds above the ground. Requires some upper body strength to hold though.

EASE OF USAGE: It is a grip luggage scale, which means that you have to pick and hold the luggage. If the luggage is heavy then you have to expend the extra energy to weigh. For that reason some people in the family found it hard to use it for heavy luggage measurement. That however, would be a problem...

Wanderer: It is as accurate as my digital bathroom scale. I weighed items ranging from 5 lbs to 50 lbs and both scales read the same thing within a few tenths of a pound (the bathroom scale only reads to the nearest 0.5 lbs). I also just bought a new carry on roller board. It was advertised to weigh 7.6 pounds and that is exactly what it measured. This scale is quick and easy to turn on, zero, and read. I am quite happy with it.

I have only one "hang up": the silly buckle strap used to hang stuff from the scale. A simple hook would have been better. I don't really feel the need to semi-permanently attach this thing to what I want to weigh. It is a needlessly extra chore that requires both hands to attach this thing. Furthermore the strap end is not doubled over and sewn. It therefore keeps wanting to slip all the way out of the male end of the snap buckle resulting in the whole thing coming undone and lifting away from what you are weighting. A couple of staples easily fixed the problem. Tape would have worked too.

I plan to retrofit the strap to a hook eventually, once I find or devise a proper hook and how best to attach it. In the mean time, the scale works great and is...

Duke Jackson: Now that the airlines (US Domestic) charge $25 per bag plus overweight fees, travelling without a high quality and easy to use scale is well, kinda dumb.

The cost of an overweight be can be $25. That's right, 1# over and it'll cost you $25 for the 1#.

So I bought this scale for around $20 as an insurance policy that I'd never go over in bag weight. And it worked.

Prior to our trip, I was packing for my family of 5 and I wanted to have the smallest footprint for luggage and not be overweight in each bag. We bought new hard clam-shell type luggage (max recommended size is 26" so you can't over pack it). We filled two clam shells and one garment bag and used our scale to distribute weight evenly between all bags.

We were highly successful using this scale and its readings were spot on with UAL's scales upon check-in.

This scale is light weight, super portable and easy to use. It's fast, efficient and measures bag weight quickly and it's easy to read on the unit's display.

On our trip, we took this scale with us to ensure on our return flights we were within weight guidelines. And we were.

This scale makes travelling easy and removes...
