Accurate Body Weight Tracking with the WYZE Smart Scale X

A. Franciscus: This scale is pretty nice overall. We were using a Renpho previously and they are very similar designs, this one is slightly larger though, which makes it nice to stand on. It also tracks a wider array of body metrics, although I'm mainly interested in weight and body fat (the basic stuff). It is very convenient to be able to have it sync to your health apps though (you'll have to read online for instructions as Android setup is slightly different than Apple) I use it to sync with the Fitbit app and have only had 1 hiccup so far (the scale itself wasn't weighing properly one day and therefore when it synced to my health app threw off my weight goals, but was easy enough to reset). It is worth noting that if you want to track your metrics and sync to other apps appropriately you have to have the Wyze app open and click on the scale before weighing yourself each time but that's not really an inconvenience for me. Overall I think it's a really useful tool and fits right in with all our other Wyze gear.

Pam Minkley: This scale was very easy to set up in the Wyze app. We monitor my husband's weight to manage his CHF. The trend graphs help us to resist focusing on daily weights but look at the trends. The information is easily shared. We have another digital and the weights are within 0.1 pounds of each other and have been consistent with our physician's scale (dressed the same, on the same day). It is nice to be able to set up multiple users. We keep track of our 8 year old great-grandson's height and weight. I have used the baggage function and it is easy. We had an older version of this scale for many years until it got left at a hotel. We ordered this one and it arrived in just one day. It is easy to use, pair with phone and retrieve data. We do travel with it in its box and it has proven to be sturdy and reliable.

Sierra Popp: I absolutely love this scale! I love that it tracks everything on a phone app. I love how accurate it is to my providers scale too! My only downside is the batteries don’t last. I purchased in February and I’ve probably gone through 5 sets of batteries of different brands.

Real person, yup: My plain, simple digital bathroom scale was over 20 years old. It did not have replaceable battery but the one it came with LASTED OVER 20 YEARS of moderate use by one person. When it finally gave out, against the warning on the back, I drool it apart and tried replacing the button battery with a new one (the same battery) but it didn’t bring the scale back to life.
So I started searching for a new bathroom scale, which is way more difficult than I thought it would be! The brick-and-mortar stores around me had limited models and after checking their product reviews found all had a number of reviews saying they had quit working after a few months to a year.
I even looked at a number of “best bathroom scales 2023” lists from general internet searches. Looking at the most frequently listed models on Amazon, thorough price/value evaluatiion (from reviews) led me to choose the Wyze Scale X, black version.
It arrived in perfect condition and after reading the instructions, was easy to set up.
I honestly did <not> want internet connectivity from a bathroom scale, but you don’t have to set up or use those functions for it to work correctly.

Lindsay B: If you don't want to have to open an app on your phone when you weight yourself, don't bother with this one. I say this primarily because this thing has switched from lbs to kgs multiple times on me in the couple weeks I've had it.

I stick it next to the trash can when not in use, so sometimes I need to weigh myself a couple times to see the same weight show up for me. I think this wouldn't be a problem if I left it level on the ground but I'm not going to do that, so I always just throw away the first result and take the 2nd. About half the time they are different, and when they are I set on a third time.

I like the way the app displays what the scale says, and then tracks that for you across time with a little chart. You can set it to weigh other things, and everyone can have their own profile for tracking if there are multiple people in the household.
