Acctim 14193 Solar-Powered Dual Alarm Clock with Eclipse Design, Black

Jeannie B: This little travel clock is fantastic. No need to press any buttons to see the time in the dark. Three brightness settings. Batteries last for ages. I now have two - one I use at home all the time and another I keep in my travel bag.

Wife number 7: This is the only alarm clock I can find that actually has lit up numbers - and not just luminous ones. It will stay lit all night and powered only by a solar panel. I've now had three and the other two lasted years (until I broke/dropped them) Some reviews here are not good and I can't understand it. Fabulous little clock, goes everywhere. Easy to set and alarm ring not too bad.

If only: Perfect replacement for my old clock.
Remains dark until button is pressed, some say the button click is noisy but it is acceptable.

S. Warren: Well its smaller so that ok because it be good for travel. The lighting up the clock however has to be tap on a bit for to highlight the numbers. There is a button to highlight but smacking it a few times eventually makes it stay on. Ever so often the cat hits it and I'm at it again.

SL: I ordered this little clock coming up almost 2-years ago, wanted to see how it lasted...Still using it today with the same batteries inside and no major issues, just a couple little annoyances (hence 4stars) which other people may accept and move on like me:

When lying down and looking across, the digital numbers are faded so I raised the clock at the back which tilts down at the front to make the numbers more visible.
Every six months or so I (as I am precise with time) I notice the time has gone forward out of sync by 1 min; easy fix just set it back 1min.

Overall I do recommend this little clock, which is quite durable too after me dropping it a few times. Especially having the same batteries without being re-charged at all yet!

Boffin: I like the handy, compact size and shape of this clock and I really wanted to like it in its entirety but it has too many problems. On the plus side, setting the time and alarm is straightforward and the alarm is a simple beeping.

On the minus side, well there are several issues for me. I wanted a clock which would show me the time throughout the night but without the need to plug it in to the mains. I was used to an electric clock which lit the digits against a dark background. This clock has black digits against a lit background and that gives me a problem. I like my bedroom to be dark but the "lo" setting is bright enough to cast shadows on the bedroom walls; on its lowest setting, it is just too bright for me. So then I turned it face down on the bedside table which got rid of the bright light but now I have to reach out and move it to see the time. There are lots of cheaper clocks that will show you the time if you reach out and press buttons and with those you don't have to place them face down on the bedside table. This clock is just not ticking the boxes for me. (I hope you spotted that unintentional pun!)

I'm used to a "snooze" that goes off at 10 minute...
