Lauren A.: This little gem of a book is a complete delight! The author explains rules in an understandable but uniquely entertaining way. I loved it!

BlueRoseSama: This is somewhat funny of you enjoy absurdist humor. I also liked the little historical bits. This is a good book for those who just want a refresher for casual writing or just love grammar and want to be amused.

Adam Lumbley: The author went the extra mile to convert dry grammar lessons into fun and short ones. It's easy to read and a good brushup for seasoned writers/editors. Probably beneficial for students new to English grammar too.

Kimmie G: Getting older? Can’t remember where the period goes inside a quote? Do you use commas like they’re your hope of salvation (raises hand) (Should I capitalize and punctuate within parentheses)? I use this book every day (sic) (or not sic because I can’t remember when I use it compounded) .

Levia: I love the humor and teasing that is included in each section. Those parts make a reader laugh, which helps keep them engaged. This also presents specifics on how each style guide can differ. Altogether, this was a pleasure to read—even if I didn't already love grammar.

A customer: Actually a very helpful book, with many examples to help the reader along. However, know that this book is US-centric and also, in particular, is governed by the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS). Some UK rules for punctuation are sidelined, accordingly.

Danielle Paquette-Harvey: Great book! Well written, well explained. Whether English is your first language or not. Easy to read too 😉

Amazon Kunde: I'm a non-native writer of English language texts. Although I'm doing an ok job, punctuation has always been my weak spot, which is a nuisance when I have to proofread and edit texts on my own.

I find Lucy Cripps's book extremely helpful and easy to work with. It is an entertainingly written, practical, case-driven and very informative crash course. The examples are well chosen; they really stuck in my memory. I worked with the book this morning and found it contains everything I need to know about modern use of punctuation in the English language, from correctly using the apostrophe to the evolving role of the slash. I even learned who invented the comma!

So, no complaints. Highly recommended.

Sleipnir: This book is an invaluable, quick, and handy-sized guide to punctuation. It is a must-have for writers and anyone involved in subbing or editing. I will be keeping it within arm's reach of my workspace.
