Marina: Everyone should read this book, it's very interesting and tells what will happen to humanity if we don't change the way we treat our planet.

EnsembleMan: The first part sets the stage for how we got where we are.

We de-wild the earth and thus reduced both carbon sinks and animal diversity

Now he thinks we have the tools to avoid our own extinction. I think he’s ever the optimist!

Stephie Williams: David Attenborough is certainly knowledgeable and equip to give a state of the planet report. But, he goes further and sets out what are the tipping point affecting climate change. Equally as important he lays out strategies for combatting the world's deterioration. All seem to be workable in principle with some things within our abilities now. And, even how some people in small ways are already doing these things.

Whoa! There is one sticking point. The will to act globally. While he may have some hope in this domain, I am not at all convinced that we human beings are willing to do all that is necessary. And many can't afford to make individual changes which collectively could be of benefit. But, just look at COP 26. Total inaction is what I saw coming out of it. China and the United States meeting privately couldn't agree to any actions to fight carbon emissions, and these the two countries at the top of the list of carbon emitters. We can't even say "blah, blah, blah" with Greta Thunberg because they didn't even agree to do anything, so they can't fail to meet new goals.

I wish I could have the positivity of Attenborough, but I can't. When it comes to the world at...
