JL2012: Lots of information and explanations of Gerd. I liked the separation of the different aspects of the meal plan. Stop, heal, reintroduce. Recipes are ok. Really difficult the make large meals 2-3x/day in addition to throwing together snacks. I am not making an entire dish stew to eat for lunch when I have to go to work. Felt like a full time job. I started looking through the meal plans and pulling those that I can make and eat for a number of days. Wish there was a shopping list based on the meals plans. A pain to flip to all the recipes and pull the ingredients to get.
FYI hope you like lamb. A number of recipes use lamb Ground lamb smells awful cooking.

Amazon Customer: This was really helpful to me in understanding how reflux works and what to eat to avoid it. The author is very encouraging which I very much appreciated - I was overwhelmed by the dietary changes I needed to make and reading this helped me feel like I could do it and it would be worth it.
The recipes are easy to make (at least the ones I tried). My faves are the herb dressing, pesto, and green beans amandine.
Recipe notes:
- the corn porridge makes 5 servings (not 2)
- the chicken stew took 1+hrs to cook (listed as 30 minutes total)
- For the mushroom omelet, that's too much salt and oil. Lower the temp a bit before adding the eggs
- baked chicken tenders: makes enough coating for 2x this amount of chicken

Ashley D. Roeder: I’ve been suffering from heartburn pretty intensely for the last year. Most of my adult life I’ve been predisposed to heartburn but it was always manageable up until last year. I took a long round of antibiotics as well as ibuprofen etc for an extended period of time. My gut was shot and I was miserable. Enter PPIs which offered some relief but after 3 months the heartburn was worse than ever. My doctor ran all the tests and prescribed PPI 2x a day. I was nauseous and miserable barely able to find foods that worked for me. Finally, I found this book. I took my time getting started and planned to begin when I knew I had an open month with no serious social commitments. I pre bought the pantry staples listed in the book. I planned each weeks snacks and meals on a calendar and ordered my groceries. I would double and even triple recipes, eating the same lunch or dinner for multiple days. I found the recipes easy to follow, simple and really tasty. Some of my favorites for ease and meal prepping were the chia pudding, bone broth, burgers, meatballs, salmon and meatloafs. I kept my snacks simple, hard boiled eggs, banana, seeds/nuts etc. I’m now one month in and I feel so much...

Emil: They propose to start with soft meals, that's good, but if you use carbs or sugar (which is proposed there) which is in honey, sweeteners, bananas, whole grains it will make you hungry again because of craving, and you will eat most probable again what causes that you add to your stomach more food and more probable that it will be too much and acid will go up ! I understand that this kind of 'solutions' are there to make our poor lives a bit easier, but it is not effective in this case what only cause that the procedure is useless.

JG: I never write reviews but I had to write one for this book. The diet really works if you really follow it! I have suffered with severe DAILY coughing attacks & bloating with hoarseness and nothing I try ever works until I started following the advice & recipes in this book. The recipes are simple & tasty & I don’t feel like I’m on a “diet” which is great. The book explains things easily as well so you’re not scratching your head trying to understand it! I have a long journey ahead of me since my symptoms are so severe but I am confident that this book will change my life. I am currently in the 2nd week of the “heal” plan and I have noticed lots of improvements. I am grateful that this book was published! I really felt like I wasn’t getting any answers going to GI doctors telling me “everything looks great” and “there’s “some” inflammation but keep taking acid reducers…”which was making things worse, not better. 😒 I hope this review helps/inspires others to try it out who are also suffering!

Sputnik2412: Hallo,

Marsha K. Owen: I just started the HEAL part of the plan. So far I have been impressed with the recipes. They're much tastier than I thought they would be. I'm using some new spices and leeks, fennel, etc that I haven't eaten before. I like the concept and am trying to follow it just as she set it up but I am noticing a couple of things. She says not to drink anything 30 minutes before and an hour after eating. That meals should be 3 to 4 hours apart, etc. That's been hard because I feel like I am eating all day and have to stay up late so I don't lay down on a full stomach. I have decided that snacks might not count as being a meal. I get super hungry sometimes after eating the amount of food she calls one serving. Also, I am just an average sized woman but what if I were a 6 foot 5 man? one small taco and then wait until morning? I ate two tacos tonight and hope I'm not endangering the lining of my esophagus. :-) I'm trying hard though and really hope this eating will heal my gut. Also, I put a little aloe vera in my melon smoothie. It tasted like poison. I'm going to still drink the rest of my smoothie toorrow because I know it's good for me but, from now on I think I'll just swallow a chunk...

Suzie: This book has completely changed my life in just five days. In Jan of this year, I started to get a sore throat along with heartburn. After suffering from a bout of heartburn and acid reflux many years ago, I never associated a sore throat with acid reflux or silent reflux as I’d never had it before. In March my throat flared up that bad that I thought I had tonsillitis as I had lumps on my tonsils, and my throat was so inflamed I could hardly swallow. We were in lockdown at the time, so I couldn’t get my throat looked at, but the doctor prescribed me antibiotics. After seven days of taking the antibiotics, my throat was getting worse, so they prescribed me some stronger antibiotics, which I took for a month to try and irradiate my sore throat. After the month passed, my throat was a little better but still red, and my tonsils were still swollen with marks on. The doctor said it will go away on its own now and to just drink honey and lemon. which I did. Two weeks passed and my throat flared up yet again, so I called the doctor back and he asked me if I had ever suffered from acid reflux, which I replied yes, but it was a long time ago and I did have some heartburn in...
