ICPete: These are good quality starter collars. They are labelled, "Designed in U.S., Made in China." The flange piece OD and ID look like the piece may have been plasma cut, possibly hand-following a template, due to slight irregularities and what appear to be minor burn marks. So the edge at the OD of the flange is sharp; be careful handling it. But this in no way diminishes the functionality of this component.
For the 6-inch version, the flange OD measures 9.0", the uncrimped portion of the tube is 6" OD, about 5-7/8" ID at the flange end, crimped at the opposite end, as you can see in the photo, to receive a standard 6-inch duct. The length of the crimped portion is about 1-5/8" to the start of the first rolled vee-band. There are two more small rolled bulges closer to the flange, as you can see in the photo. The overall length is 5-5/8", including the adhered 1/8-inch sponge-rubber gasket (self adhesive both sides, so you peel the backing paper and can then stick the flange against whatever you are mating it to). There are three mounting holes in the flange on a roughly 7.5" diameter bolt circle, but one of them is about 1/8-inch off. These holes are roughly 5/32" diameter....

M.: It's a duct collar, so really there's not much to review, but it feels solid and comes with an adhesive backed pad on the flat surface, so it's got everything you need to install on a flat surface. Only thing I could complain about is that if I wanted to mount it with the flat surface on the outside of whatever wall it was going through, with the pipe stuck through the hole, the adhesive is on the wrong side and is stuck down so not really removable.

LilGoomba: I have an electric brewery in my garage and needed an inexpensive ventilation system for the boil kettle. After stealing some ideas on a home brewing forum, I used this collar combined with a large stainless salad bowl and 6" inline vent fan.
I used the collar to trace the 6" hole in the bottom of the bowl and then attached it with rivets. The adhesive is very strong and the rivets probably aren't even needed. It seals air-tight to the bowl. From there, I ran 6" ducting up into the attic where the inline blower pumps it out through a vent in the roof. I suspended the bowl from the ceiling using adjustable shop light tethers.
The whole setup was under $200 and works like a dream!
So the best part of this collar is that it allows you to create a flange-less seal on pretty much anything. The airflow is very smooth and transitions nicely to the 6" ducting.

Paul Moore: I was connecting a Aprilaire 500 humidifier to my furnace and needed to to a 6" line into the return air. This was the perfect piece to do that. It has a seal and is attached with three screws. Worked perfect. Glad I found it.

BobR: My need was simple. This simple solution was perfect. Nicely built. Sturdy enough. The flange was plenty deep enough so I could fasten the flex pipe to it easily with self-tapping screws. I don't know how well it would have adhered, as I used my own roofing cement to hold it in place before laying shingles over it.
