Get the best VGA Cables with ELECABLE!Stephanie: Don't bother. Had this plugged into my desktop tower in the USB 3.0 port as directed and downloaded the driver. Every time I started my computer from off, it would make my monitor show up in 600x800 resolution and tell me the device works better using USB 3.0. (It was plugged into the usb 3.0.) Then, if I restarted my computer after it was already on, it would fix itself and show up with 1080. So I to start my computer and then restart it every time just to get my monitor up and running with this cord. So dumb. Lasted for about a week and now it won't display anything on my monitor at all, even though the input setting is correct. Useless.

Fernando Bracho: A pesar de que la mayoría de las personas asumimos que los puertos USB son únicamente para transmitir datos, este cable permite transmitir video. Lo utilice para conectar un segundo monitor a la computadora y funciona perfectamente.

(Edit 9/7/2020-I WAS able to get it to work on Windows 7. I rebooted my laptop a few times, plugged in the usb end of the cable, turned on the monitor, and on my laptop screen I right-clicked and chose Screen Resolution. From there, I was able to select Extend Monitor. That was it. It worked. So yes, it works on Windows 7 too, at least on my laptop. Read on.
At first, I was not sure the device worked. On a Windows 7 laptop, there was a sharing violation so no, it did not work. I have a dvd player on the old laptop and while I did read reviews and I did see references to downloading the installation file, I could not find anything specific as in a link-anywhere. Then again, I read quickly. So I set my old laptop up as a share and installed the drivers from the dvd across my home network to my Windows 10 machine. It installed. I plugged in the device to my new laptop, and the other end into a VGA Samsung monitor. I set up extended monitors. Everything worked. It will take me some time to figure out what and how across the laptop monitor and the extended monitor. I can do it, use both, but for teaching online I am not yet confident to try to have two...

Desert LoverDesert Lover:
I just connected two monitors to my MacBook Pro 2017 (running Mojave) and I now have three screens, not mirrored, extended. The adapter needs a driver which can be downloaded from a shared Google drive (I know, a little nervous about that, but it all worked out perfectly). I needed to give special permission to the app because it was not recognized, but once I did that, it downloaded right up and started working as soon as plugged the cable into my USB 3 port. I played a little with the arrangement of displays, and after 5 minutes total time everything was set up as you can see in the picture. Excellent adapter, makes it possible to extend your Mac to three screens with the limited number of ports that a Mac has. My other monitor is plugged into my Mini DisplayPort with a MDP to VGA adapter. This is the only way to do it: a VGA splicer only allows for mirroring, not extending. For 16 bucks, this is a great solution. And the quality of pictures and video is surprisingly good, not grainy or fuzzy at all, really good. Works perfectly, I highly recommend it!
UPDATE: NOT working with my other Mac running Catalina 10.15.7. Seller says that it is compatible, but it...

Garrick Berger: Have an older Dell laptop - I could install Windows 11 on it, but after that, I couldn't get the second monitor to come up with the internal HDMI no matter what adapters I tried - RGB, DVI-D, or DisplayPort.
After installing the driver (look in your file finder - it shows up in your E: or other external drive) and rebooting, it worked great. My monitor is a bit non-standard resolution at 1900 x 1200, but the display settings saw it and I could set the native resolution just fine.
Color looks good and I'm not seeing any lag or hesitation as reported in other reviews.
I'm happy!
Update: Just tried a video on the external monitor. _Slight_ hiccup on video, but mostly runs smoothly, even at full size. That's a bonus, frankly.
