DCdevil: This is the first time I think I've given a 1 star review. But it's pretty straight forward. The product did not work AT ALL. I live in southern California. The water temp in the beaches around here is 60F-70F during the summer. So it's not warm like in Hawaii or tropics. My masks have always gotten fogged up so I decided to give this a try. The product is a thick blue gel. Almost like a toothpaste. Directions are simple - rub on generously and rinse off with water. I did exactly that. Within 1-2 minutes: FOG. So I tried rubbing it on and letting it set for 10 minutes, then washing it off. Still got fog. 20 minutes -FOG. Thin or thick layer - FOG. I tried on different lenses - goggles, dive mask, a high end full face snorkel mask. All got fog. Tried glass and polycarbonate: FOG. Before I wrote this review, I had tried it on all types of stuff using different techniques (even different beaches!) and in the end I still got fog within 1-2 minutes. So for anyone that says this stuff works, I don't know what to tell you. Guess I got the ONE bad bottle out of the thousands produced. Sorry, this stuff just doesn't work.

Jeremy Irons: My wife and I got PADI certified back in August through a local dive training center called Scuba Bros here in OKC! I know, I know OKC is landlocked and there are no beaches in sight... well they have a nice lake to complete all of our dives and underwater objectives. We would have been miserable without this defogger. Now it took a couple times to learn how to apply it properly but it works great to us. I really hate reviews cause you never know if someone is really knowledgeable enough to leave a worthy enough review. Well i will be the first to tell you we wanted less fogging when we dive and this did the trick. Its not like all of a sudden our goggles were in HD and Fish seemed more vibrant or something cliche as that but it helped a ton for the couple of hours a day we were underwater. Even after clearing our masks several times. Now we make sure we apply it an hour or so before each dive to keep a thin, fresh layer on our goggles. You can't go wrong with this stuff imo.

Ameen: I've always had problems with mask fogging. I'm a big guy so I produce a lot of body-heat. I've never found a decent solution, so I tried this reluctantly.

It works perfectly. I think anyone who has had issues with it either didn't follow directions, didn't pre-treat their mask by removing the gunk left on during manufacture (with toothpaste), or are using plastic lenses. For the record, I used this stuff with a Tusa Liberator mask while snorkeling and SCUBA diving. The result: no fog whatsoever.

The form-factor is very convenient. I clipped the carabiner onto my shorts and was surprised to find that the lid stayed shut during long swims.

Application tips:
-Works best when applied to a dry mask.
-You only need a very small amount- one little dab should work well for both lenses.
-Rub it in until all of the glass on the inside of the mask is covered. It shouldn't be chunky or globby.
-Dip the mask in water to remove extraneous defogger.
-Clean the inside of the mask well after use. Defogger left on the mask can get dry and crusty.

DGS4930: Initially had problems getting this to work but was not following directions (helps to read directions). I coated my lens upon arriving at the dive location and it sat while I prepped my gear. Last think I did before hitting the water was to rinse the mask but was using my glove, directions say to use finger ONLY. After using my finger it worked much better from that point forward. I also cleaned and prepped my mask with toothpaste several times before using this product. Through trial and error and some online reading found the best way to prep a mask was to use regular old white paste toothpaste, add some to the lens with your finger, spread it out then let it sit for an hour or so. Get a soft toothbrush, get it wet, shake the extra water out then scrub the toothpaste into the glass, don't bear down, similar pressure if you were brushing your teeth. Paste will foam up, make sure you scrub along the edges. Spend some time doing it until you feel like the glass is "squeaking" (not sure how else to describe it). Rinse all the paste out then without drying breath into the mask, see where it fogs up, repeat until you don't see fog when you breath into the mask. That seemed to work...
