The CrankThe Crank: I bought these plugs to cover screw holes in hanging racks I mounted on my bedroom and bathroom doors. Drilled a pilot hole for the screw first and then carefully used a forester bit to drill a ½ inch hole about ⅜" deep so the top of the screw could sit below the surface of the board. The diameter of the plugs is a tad uneven and I had to feel my way through several to find ones that would fit snugly in the hole. The manufacturer says these plugs are oak, but they didn't quite match the red oak boards I used to make the rack. The grain looks right but the color is a little darker. Worked for me.

Due to some variations in manufacturing tolerances I tried one in each specific location before driving it
‘Fully home’ permanently. They work really well and look like they were originall.
