Shelly: I have 4 grandkids that are ages 3-7. The oldest 2 are readers. They both loved the dark dark room book. The Green Ribbon being a favorite with all the kids! They laugh and laugh every time it is read. The Green Ribbon story has been read 30 + times. I like the collection.

Vani: Bought this item for my son who is 5 and in reception class as he is into spooky stories.He loves it when I read the books to him but there is no way he would be able to read them himself.
I would rather recommend the books for older children (maybe 6/7 year olds)

Erika: My first order got lost in the mail but seller offered an immediate replacement (or full refund) that showed up the next day, so i appreciate that. My kindergartener started reading these right away, he was very excited. He is considered an advanced reader, if that helps, and usually has to be nagged to read. I didn't have to tell him to start reading because he was interested in these books just by looking at them. Much more interested than he was with "Henry and Mudge." Love the illustrations. He read Flat Stanley right away and started the next book. I had to stop him because it was time for bed, but he wanted to keep reading. "In a Dark Dark Room and other scary stories" is a classic! I remember reading it when I was young and the story that stuck with me was the one with the girl whose head was tied on with a ribbon. That's probably the one everyone is saying is too scary for their kids, but it's really not THAT bad, just reeeally creepy illustrations in that book. I'd definitely recommend this set if you're trying to get your kids hooked on reading.
