Banned on Discord: i needed to replace the catalyst in my lighter fuel hand warmers. I'd be mad getting so little catalyst for the price if this was for a fireplace. but i could probably replace the catalyst in a good 50 to 100 hand warmers depending on how much i packed in the warmer. the more you pack the hotter the warmer. works great with naptha as my fuel source too, it's basically the same fuel as the zippo lighters except zippo adds stuff to slow the evaporation of the naptha in their fuel. so if your only refilling the hand warmer just before use, or your heavily using the warmer, you will get a good 10 to 20% longer burn time with naptha when you will with the zippo lighter fuid. just keep your fuel in a bottle instead of the warmer when not in use and saves tons by just getting naptha from a hardware store.

David: These embers work perfectly for a hand warmer. Heat output will depend on amount of embers you put in. Don’t put too much…it heats up fairly quickly and really hot if you fill the burner to the top with embers so I suggest a thin amount.

CannonFodder73: Significantly improves performance of fueled handwarmers such as Zippo. Just pack two small embers into the top of the heater head (the OEM material can be left in place). A blunt tool such as a straightened/broken hairpin works well for this. This will increase heat output up to about 130-140F vs 110-120F, allow burntimes over a day (30 hours with 20g of fuel), and greatly reduce the odor/smell of the fuel. Given normal fireplace usecase, it demonstrates the handwarmer can be lit using a gas stove or a torch lighter without damage (which is faster and more effective than anything with a yellow flame). One pack of embers is several lifetimes of supply for handwarmers but well worth the performance gain.

Firefox23508: I was surprised at how little came in one box. I had to order another box to get. Enough for my two-level pan. They then have to manipulated by hand into small balls as they come as uniform tiny flat squares. A lot of work to get to perform properly and realistically.

Isaac: Good bag of embers. I use it for my zippo handwarmer, since the replacement head for the zippo is really expensive and adds up after a while. This bag will last a very long time for this purpose.

Amazon Customer: These embers are clearer bright, glowing with an impressive golden colour all over and all through it.
Note they do not have the edge/surround glow that other typical embers have
