Jason HillJason Hill: -1 Star due to the screw holes being larger than the screws making parts wobbley no matter how tight the nuts are.
- 1 Star because the middle outlet on the extension cord burned out on day 2 (see above)
- 1 Star because the drawer runners are on these strips of plastic and if they fall out are impossible to get back in (see above)
+ 1 Star for durable materials and ease of initial assembly

KissingTacoKissingTaco: It seems like this version of the workbench is sold under many different brands. Wen, Harbor Freight, etc...
Overall, not bad. Box is big and clunky. Well packaged. Instructions are sometimes confusing but nothing a person with a master's in engineering can't figure out. Just kidding. Not too bad. If you have assembled Ikea furniture - it's the same. It will take 3 to 4 hrs to assemble - guaranteed. There are so many screws to deal with and unavoidable for flat packed furniture.
Having another person helps. There are some steps that can be very awkward for a single person to do. Lots of screws. The entire lower half is held together by M6x10 screws. I should have used blue Locktite on them but hopefully the washer/nut combo will stop them from walking out.
Screw quality - pretty good but YOU will have some that will not want to thread onto the nut. It requires you to work it and debur them.
Drawers - A little flimsy in the front. You are pulling on a 1.5mm thick piece of steel so expect some flex. The drawers are deep enough to be usable.
Overall, very happy with it. If there's a HF near you - you can save a bit on this item. I might get another...

JessicaJessica: Now, it is only Day 1, but here are my thought so far.
Assembly
Although it is possible, dont try to assemble this thing alone. Even if you just have your kid/friend/partner just hold a beam in place while you secure it, it will make your life so much easier! (I did not follow this advice til the end and this took me around 3-4hours to assemble mostly by myself). I will say, however, despite that inconvenience, this thing really wasnt that hard to assemble. Time consuming, yes, but hard? Not really.
Quality
This is probably the sturdiest feeling “cheaper” desk I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing. Most of it is metal (not the strongest, but strong enough). And even the wood holds up surprisingly well. I’m used to pressboard splintering and chipping during assembly. I didnt have this issue with this one. All edges of the boards are sealed and painted, so you dont have to worry about ugly exposed pressboard either. And the back cheeseboard may be the “weakest” part of the desk, but it feels strong enough for when I actually start fully utilizing it.
Spacing
I needed more counter space for my projects. And this gives a pretty decent amount of...

Yakbeard: If you haven't assembled much furniture like this, then you may find this a little bit of a daunting task to put together. Take your time, read through the directions, get your parts all laid out and you'll do fine. There is one issue with the instructions that I think is leading to people thinking that they didn't get the correct number of nuts and bolts though. Most of the metal frame assembly all uses the same type of screws, but when you get to assembly the upper piece that the pegboard goes onto, you don't put anything in the holes that the pegboard is fastened onto. The pegboard has 13 holes and these are connected using a longer bolt than the rest of the upright assembly. Be careful not to over tighten these connectors, or you will rip right through the pegboard.
That one issue aside, I was able to assemble the whole thing myself in 2 hours. There was a minor hiccup getting the left hand drawer to slide easily, but that was easy enough to fix by putting 2 small washers on the connectors for the left track of that drawer. After assembly, the unit is sturdy and not wobbly. The included light is bright enough to illuminate the work surface very well, and the 3 outlet...

henry pickernell: easy to put together, and for what i wanted works great, this is not a heavy duty bench, more what i would call a tinkering bench, great for taking small things apart , small project builds, with tools hanging in front of you on the pegboard. light not the brightest but good for me, and electrical outlets on side of table top very handy

Derek Fendelet: Received mine last night. Was able to set it up by myself with minimal difficulties. Be sure to take your time, keep the hardware organized and read the instructions thoroughly! All the information IS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.
First thoughts:
Great little unit for the cost. I bought it mostly to have in my basement/office for doing work on my PCs and tool storage. The value of cost to quality of what I received is very good. The box I received it in had some minor shipping damage, it has plastic banding wrapped around the cardboard to hold it all together and the banding had cut into the box in several locations, not a big deal over all.
This IS NOT A HEAVY DUTY WORK BENCH. Don't be expecting it to hold massive amounts of weight or take a lot of abuse. The metal is not overly thick, but the way its bent and fastened together makes it plenty sturdy. The work tops of it are not great though, don't expect them to take a lot of abuse. For the hobbyist or enthusiast I think this is a fantastic work bench though. If you're doing any sort of metal work or mechanics you may want to invest in a better top for it.
Make sure you've got everything squared up before you...

WD: For small tasks. The instructions don't tell you where to use the slightly longer screws. Pro tip: Use them where the pegboard is secured. I had to move some around after I came up short. Also, the top screw holes were not counter sunk like the work surface and lower shelf.
The posts that hold up the top have an offset hole in the not quite middle. Line that up with the pegboard to make sure it is the right alignment. The upper part and peg board are a two person job.
Shipping was horrible. The box was mutilated beyond use. There was some minor damage to some of the components but it's going to look worse when I get done using it.

Ran Sack: Looks great and is all I need for the price. Pegboard is perfect and light and outlets along the side work perfectly.
Surprised to see the mention of it being unstable because it was pretty solid before the pegboard but adding the pegboard and connecting it to the brackets made it rock solid. Also, the only time the pegboard holes for bolts is blocked is if you didn’t assemble it correctly. And why you would have it without the pegboard and light is a mystery. Sort of like buying a swimming pool and not filling it with water.
Anyway, great value, very happy with the purchase and highly recommend
