Dwane rodney austin: This hiking bag is spacious and durable!

Kate: Comfortable straps and waist band, and holds enough for a decent day of walking - waterproof, lunch, drinks, etc. However, I was disappointed that this doesn't have a sensible way of attaching walking poles. They can be placed through one of the side straps, with the ends in one of the net pockets (where most people would put bottles, but this isn't an ideal solution, and if you place them horizontally across the back of the pack where there are other straps, the poles will stick out and be a hazard to anyone walking past. As well as this, the way the bag opens means that if you place ANYTHING in the top front pocket, it makes it quite difficult to close the bag up one handed, as the weight of the item in the top pocket makes the bag flap open. This means if you can't place the bag on the floor to hold it closed with one hand while doing up the zip, you'll have issues closing it. Ok as a day pack in good weather, or for travelling, but probably wouldn't use it on a proper hike.

Dp9798: So I've had this almost 5 years. I rarely do any multiday hiking/camping trips, mostly day hikes and camp out of the jeep. But it's been fabulous. I just did another 8 mile hike today. There's not even a worn out strap worth replacing.
I've used this regularly the entire 5 years. When in not hiking with it out lives in the jeep as a storage bag too. I've not treated this thing nicely. As long as you take a few minutes to adjust all the straps based on what you've got packed, it's comfortable and distributes weight evenly. I've hiked with it up to 8 hours for days in a row.
Plenty of pockets. Easy to get to things. Plenty of adjustability on the straps to get it the way you want.
All that, at this price, for 5 years? I love it.

VincentVincent: Long story short, this thing quickly became my constant companion, and not only got me through two very specific, very straining periods and just about every conceivable use-case and stress test but in the end, the only thing to give out was the teeth on the main zipper, and the chest clip, after extraordinary over-use with both. Both were still usable (!) but as this has gone from my life-pack to my work pack, I'm simply purchasing another for sake of freshness. As for the two periods we've gone through:
1. When I realized at the end of 2017 that I was on a rapid slide into poverty and only months from homelessness, I made the call that it was time to start preparing, and purchased this pack (Stock, Gray2 40L) and sure enough, it very quickly became my constant, trusted companion through a rough 18 month stretch where all of my belongings were inside, easily more than 100lb+ daily.
Rain or shine, the yellow rain cover kept my clothes, hydropack and knicknacks up front, plus the papers and laptop snug in the back sleeve (though that main have been intended for hydropack/bladder, I found it kept my laptop safer and my back straighter having it all the way in back) - No...

Tyler A.Tyler A.: Due to COVID all the camping is still not allowed here in California, so I've been having to settle my wanderlust in me by doing very long hikes. For the past three days, I have taken this pack with me on my hikes. One day was easy hiking and the next two were long moderate to strenuous hikes. Here is what I found out >>>
The Pros:
The pack is lightweight, which is a great thing for any backpack. The comfortability of this pack is superior! I am not a tall guy (5'9") and was able to get the pull cords to fit my frame perfectly. The padding for your back is also top-notch stuff. It isn't that cheap material that I've often experienced in other backpacks. I also found that this pack has plenty of hook areas if you need to add an attachment using a carabiner or pull cord. There is also plenty of room inside the pack. I was able to stuff quite a bit of items in there and still had room left over. There is also multiple zipper compartments that offer great room. Sidenote: There is what they call a hidden compartment area for valuables, which is cool. But probably should have put a zipper in that area. All the other zippers have worked great with no struggling or...

None of your business: Really nice pack. Good size, strap system seems to work well. Outside pockets are good and the waterproof cover seems to be of good quality. Only small issues are that it could be made of thicker material and the main compartment could use more storage options (pouches and hooks) so that all of your gear isn't just piled up inside. I'm happy with this pack and would recommend to a weekend warrior.

Lotus: I liked a lot about this backpack. The color is unique, the material seems to be of good quality, it's pretty lightweight, and all the little extra pockets and straps really come in handy. But I wanted to use this for a month-long trip to Europe, and I ultimately decided to use a different backpack for two reasons. First, I decided I wanted a backpack that unzipped all the way like a suitcase. Second, I had a little touble with the zipper on this backpack and I was worried that it wouldn't hold up over time, especially considering that I'm not the first reviewer to mention having zipper issues. But I'm keeping it in case I need a backpack for a shorter hiking or camping trip. I think it would be much better for that purpose, rather than for backpacking Europe.
