KatrineKatrine: I bought this dog bed before collecting my Chihuahua as a puppy. She loves the bed very much, and is now 2.5 years old. The mattress in the bed is not very thick, but the sides are soft and comfortable, and she can curl up, or lie on her back fully stretched out in it. All the other animals in the house love her bed as well. My dog is quite long for her breed, so I have decided to buy her a new dog bed, but I couldn't possibly order a different one - she loves it too much. So I am ordering a medium for her and saving her old one for the living room. I couldn't recommend it more, but if you want a thicker mattress, this is not for you. I did consider buying her a memory foam dog sofa, but the soft sides of this bed makes it ideal for her at night.
