Toby: With these assortment boxes, you never really know what you're going to get.

However, whenever I ordered these boxes, I'd get multiple of the same things, just in different 'flavours' that really didn't taste all that different from each other. A bit of a disappointment.

That aside, there were a few really good things too! I loved the jelly candies the most, and they had some cute and interesting chips/snacks that weren't too bad!

Overall, I do like getting Japanese mystery boxes, but I think I might try something a big more specific to what snacks I'd like. If you like the mystery, and have the money, this is perfect for you.

Shea-HimeShea-Hime: You have to go into this purchase somewhat knowing what to expect to really enjoy it for what it is: a fun treat box. I bought this for me and my husband to try for our anniversary because 1) it was something fun and different to try and 2) it was something we could do together. We both already like the seafood and savory/umami flavors that pervades the cheaper Japanese snacks. The seafood jerky can be off-putting if you don't like a super fishy taste. ( We LOVED the eel and octopus/squid Jerky and are looking for them in bulk as well as the corn snacks ! ) Otherwise, these are mostly just fun, standard snacks and candies you can't find unless you're fortunate enough to have specialty stores that sell them near you, which we don't. Just having fun guessing the flavor profile and snack textures was well worth the money. We got more than a few laughs out of being surprised. ( All of the writing on the packaging is Japanese, so - it's hard to know EXACTLY what you're tearing into ! It adds to the mystery. ) The way the candy was packaged was in a grocery style bag, but if you look on the bottom - there's a barcode because of how these are prepackaged. nanabunnanabun: Just arrived and was within estimated delivery time. As far as i can tell there are 19 sweet items, 17 savoury items, 1 fish item(I think that's what it is) and several that I'll have to look up(mystery meat and soup mix?) but that's part of the fun. Everything had at least 2 months best before date(expiration date is NOT the same thing). Everything was intact. This was my first time buying a box like this and I was not disappointed. I don't know how any of it tastes yet but since everyone's tastes are different, my opinion on this doesn't really matter. Besides, part of the reason I bought this box was to try new things and that is definitely what I got.

Meaghan Rothwell: Most of the items were pretty gross. With that being said, I made the choice to buy these so the gross reaction is on me lol. If you like super salty and hard to describe flavors then these are your treats. If you are hoping for some new sweets then this isn't for you.

Spelunk68: Love it, it did not have junk filler like the others (like a simple rice cake in clear plastic with no wording, etc.). I enjoy getting these boxes very much for the taste of local junk food in Japan (I have watched too many you tube videos and wanted to experience foreign treats for myself and this is a great way to get more than comes in a "Tokyo Box" branded box at three times the price (If you do not need detailed English descriptions of every item and a bunch of other fancy publishing and packing materials that makes it cost way too much then try this route) This seller takes great care in their selection and the amount I got for the price was amazing and they had a lot of stuff that you do not normally see from people that buy a few wholesale packs and give the same basic stuff every time. These seem like someone cares, even for the little items, like they take their time to find all kinds of different treats that you do not normally find. I do not know if I can explain it but a lot of others get something like a retail box of individually celo wrapped crackers or something and throw one of them in each box and you have no clue how to identify it and also seem like boring...
