Ava Goemo: We use these for heavy coats and they work better than the thick plastic ones. They are 3 times thicker than the older metal hangers. You would have a hard time bending these to unlock your car door when accidentally locked out. Thank goodness they didn’t make coat hangers like this when I was a kid in the 1960’s! We would all have be hurting puppies or dead after an a$$beating.

Ol' Hesty: Blown away is an understatement. Consider me as a hanger aficionado. These are straight up GOOD stainless steel, good weld joints, blunted/ rounded tip, and very stout hangers. Non-magnetic (austenitic) stainless. What that means is that if one chooses to use them to hang dry clothes, it is highly unlikely that one will encounter rust.

If your fighting with space on the rack, these will improve your availability. The notches are excellently designed, they don’t snag your collars when you yank your shirts off of them, much like a typical smooth coated wire hanger, but the notches have plenty of grab for garments that have shoulder straps or tank tops. Wide enough to prevent the plaguing shoulder divots.

Seriously y’all, I could go on and on about how these (like other competitors of the same product type on Amazon) are unbelievably kick aśś. Just sayin’ if you don’t have these in your closet, you are seriously missing out.

PhotoGraphicsPhotoGraphics: I thought the easiest thing in the world would be to buy a handful of old fashioned wire clothes hangers for a small section of my walk-in closet - the kind my grandma has had hanging in her closet for 50 years, the ones she got free from the cleaners. No such luck, I spent an hour until I finally found these. What was once regarded as the cheapest hanger you could buy sells now for as much as five bucks each. No I am not making that up. And most of them want you to take 50 or even a hundred. I only needed a few to fill a small space and I purposely wanted wire because I’m hanging everyday tee shirts, not heavy winter jackets.

HELPFUL HINTS

Following are some hints based on what I learned (or already knew). First, I didn’t need or want wooden hangers. They are great for hanging coats but the design makes them take up too much space. And plastic? Okay, plastic is great for a lot of things but rarely for a clothes hanger. There are laws of physics that can’t be broken - the thinner a plastic hanger is the more fragile it will be, and the thicker it is the bulkier it will be.
