Rebecca Lynn: My first impression is that these will be great brushes for my toddler. We haven’t used them yet, so I can’t speak to durability. I am however, disappointed that the bristles on the blue brush are shorter than the bristles on the other 3 brushes. There does not seem to be anything wrong with it, it’s just odd that they are not all identical.

Alexis: Super amazing. I use these with 1-year-olds and they can use them very easily. They can grip and move easily. They clean really nicely so far... used for a month now and with black, browns, blues ,purples, etc and they all wash out and do not stain. They are a mix between rough and smooth brushed

Andy & Ari: So, we've had these in our household for almost two months ago. I purchased them to work on some wrist mobility exercises and fine motor type tasks with our five year old son, who has an assortment of specialized needs and developmental delays. The rating is based on my opinion of them, and not his, because he gives me some pretty wicked stink eye whenever I pull them out. And his actions express a fair bit of displeasure about them. Anything to do with coloring, painting...they are my little man's kryptonite.

So I have to tell you straight up I've not been using traditional paints with these. We've been using them in the bathtub using non-toxic soap paints that I purchased at the store, because I thought this would be the most successful way to introduce these activities and get some sort of buy in from him. Plus it comes with the added advantage of allowing him to paint in many different planes and be easily cleanable at the same time. So they're exposed to a fair bit of moisture, but they are not exposed to paints that would stick to the bristles and not wash off completely or well. The bathtub setting has other advantages, I can try to get him to paint the soap on...

MPetro: Son loves these! We also bought the spill proof Melissa and Doug cups (highly recommend these too!), and these brushes work perfectly with them! These brushes are big enough for little hands without being overly large. Make for nice brush strokes for my 3 year old. Also love the color coordination...matching the colors up really helps him to keep the correct brushes in the correct color paints! Yay! Oh - and they are super easy to clean as well (plus for mommy too!)
