Cynthia: These were perfect. i have 2 vents that I have steps stools over. Rather then heat the chairs, they are now heating the house. Perfect solution. Easy to install and they are a heavy-duty plastic.

ABigBadWolf: These are cheaper than many of the others that look like them, and that is about the only good thing about them. The magnets are week, the slide together action barely holds them together, and really they are pretty terrible quality. I bought a delfecto 51 which is much better quality and has screw holes I would recommend them over this one.

Ariel: Because these are expandable, everything they get bumped they come apart. The peices that hold it together don't hold it very solid. I have cats and they bump them quite often. Great in very low traffic areas though.

sam: These products are pretty flimsy. They’re constructed in such a way it’s very difficult to get them to stay onto the vent. The magnets are not very strong.

Thomas E. BehnkeThomas E. Behnke: Two of the four vent deflectors arrived with the magnets included but were loose in the package. It appeared there was no glue used to attach them, but just a divot where it would not stay. The third air vent deflector’s clear plastic was broken. They were shipped in a thinner cardboard box and placed in an envelope, and even though thinner, did not appear damaged. So, I don’t think it was a shipping problem that caused the damage. I think it was shipped broken. We attempted to attach the forth deflector and it should’ve been simple as we have a standard vent. It would not attach to the vent cover due to not matching up with the cover. For that reason we will not try to get them replaced with a new order and will return these. Don’t recommend at all.

lilasskickerlilasskicker: These are perfect for my standard ceiling vents (14”ish x 4”ish) where no one is going near them. The magnets hold strongly and they redirect the air perfectly (just AC so far, will update if there’s any problem with heat). They are pretty flimsy though, my guess is they’d fall apart easily on a floor or wall vent that is in a high traffic area or could be bumped into.

In my estimation the product should cost about $10 (canadian). (Easily manufacturable under $3)

Build quality:
Plastic is mediocre at best, most likely not designed to last forever, time will tell.

The magnets are sandwiched between two pieces of metal and placed in predetermined slots, they are not glued in place.

Because the product relies on tension to hold the magnets in place instead of a glue, one of the magnets was slightly out of scope and easily falls out.

Two simple manufacturer solutions would be to either apply an adhesive or glue that can stand high temperatures; or to design a place for the metal to be inserted from the top and the magnet to be strong enough to be attracted with the plastic in between.

The plastic shells come in two pieces where one slots into the other. The slot is small and the two halves can easily come apart. Should the tab be slightly taller this wouldn't be a problem.
