audchild: I'm diabetic and have gone keto/carnivore. After a lot of trial and error, I realized that black pepper was causing stomach upset. But I really like the taste of pepper...so I did some research and found that black pepper is an unripe berry. White pepper, however, is the same berry, only ripe. I bought some ground White pepper, and voila! The great taste of pepper, without the stomach upset. Tip: pepper has been shown to help the body absorb nutrients from your food. When you see pepper in your supplements, it's called Bioprine. None of the manufacturers want you to know that it's as simple as eating nutritious foods with pepper, to get plenty of what your body needs to stay healthy.
