Slika: I used to buy dried ghost pods and crushing/chopping them as needed before getting these. I’ll compare the two:
Pros:
- hotter than standard crushed chilis. Maybe 2 to 3 times hotter
- less chance of getting gut rot
- possibly more bang for buck
- no remnant oil on hands to haunt you when you have forgotten about that
- will not change flavor of underlying dish
Cons:
- not extremely hot possibly due to the crushed and dried nature
- missing the fruity, smokey flavor from the pods that I treasure
- will not give you the true ghost pepper experience
Overall, I am happy with the product. Great to use as a substitute to regular crushed chilis for those looking for a heat boost. If you’ve not had true ghost pods, maybe get those first for full experience (crushing half a pod will be perfect to avoid gut rot and still get the heat/taste experience).

I've been trying to eat healthier and use less salt. This helps SO MUCH! And you can control the heat. Only want a little heat, one small shake. I'm up to about five good shakes now. A little goes a long way. It's VERY hot - which is AWESOME! The bottle claims it's at a million scoville units.
I also like that is doesn't impart a lot of flavor so I can use it in pretty much anything. It replaced my Thai chili seeds as an excellent upgrade. It's also built up my tolerance to new levels letting me taste amazing flavors in peppers I never noticed before.
This is one that should be in the arsenal of any serious pepper lover - and it's portable. Fits in my pocket.
