This tape is incredibly strong, and gives me full confidence in its ability to secure something. I can see why it’s not cheap! Amazing stuff

H. Ault: First, be aware that it absolutely will not stick to everything. If your car dashboard has been spritzed with Armorall to make it slick and shiny, you can forget sticking pretty much anything to it, this adhesive foam tape included. I'm noting this because I've seen folks gripe about buying a stick-on phone mount and then discovering that it wouldn't stay put on their lovingly hand-detailed dashboard covered with Armorall or similar products. That said, on most smooth, non-porous materials, this tape is going to bond well enough that you'll risking damaging something when you try to remove it. So, be *really sure* that you've got it where you want it before pressing it in place; you most likely won't get two shots.

Paula M.: Works well. Great adhesion. Is easy to apply. Only complaint - I wish it came in white color.

jordan stangl: Almost didn't buy this because of what the bad reviews were saying. So happy I took a chance and got this.
This is 100% genuine 3M, wasn't dry at all, and it's adhesion was unbelievable.
I used it to install a spoiler. Made one mistake and almost completely screwed myself over because I couldn't get the spoiler off after one second of it touching my car. Unreal product.
Use this with adhesion promoter. It's expensive to get both, but necessary if you want to do things right and be safe. Also, the setting you use this in and the prep you do makes ALL the difference. Don't get impatient or lazy because you'll pay the price.
I'm sure some people did legitimately get a defective product, but that can happen with even the best products in the world from time to time. I'd say this is the best tape in the world easily. Others probably just used it wrong and the product isn't to blame.

susan west: cold in my shop so may not be a good test, sticks pretty good used to assist in the install of 4 1/4 inch epdm flexy flares ,if nothing else it did hold them in place until i screwed them on . i put one strip on the fender and one on the fender flare seemed to do the job , clean first epdm with acetone , then, fender lip with alcohol, thoroughly press in place

Sailing Last Straw: I recently used this product as part of the process to replace old aluminium framed port lights in a sailboat with surface mounted cast acrylic. Adhesion between the fibreglass and acrylic was best when a primer was used on the acrylic. 3m VHB tape worked perfectly, I did need to double the layers up to get the desired thickness in order to accommodate the degree of thermal expansion/contraction between the boat and acrylic. There are a couple videos up under Sailing Last Straw E9 and E10. As for the product itself, it was delivered on time well packaged and worked as advertised. The problems I had in the project on the first attempt were unrelated to the tape, simply I used an expired adhesive that was likely incompatible and too stiff for the application.

Dan Miller: When I open my last office The Sign Company offered to hang my pvc cutout sign by using VHB mounting tape. They offered to do this 4 / $300. I would on Amazon and search the term and found this product. It works better than advertised... This stuff is incredible but is permanent so don't use it where you might have to take it down anytime soon. Let's say you want to tape your car to the wall of your garage... This tape might be able to accommodate that just don't expect to hop in the car for date night with your wife in the foreseeable future. You'll have to take her ride. In all seriousness, this is an excellent product made by 3M who am I experience only makes high quality products. Whatever your application, I strongly endorse this product.

RobbySkateboard: I used some of this to tape solar panels down to my tent trailer. It says to give it 72 hours to dry 100%, I placed the tape on my solar panel mount, set it down where I wanted it, tried to move it over about a half inch and couldn't even lift it off after it had been placed gently there! After about 48 hours I figured it was good enough and left for a camping trip. I took it easy on the way to my camp site never passing 65mph, checked the panels when I got there and they were as solid as could be. Each panel has 4 brackets, that have about 8 square inches each, so each panel is held on with 32 square inches of this tape, each panel also weighs about 18lbs, but because it has brackets lifting it off the roof, the wind can get under and push up on it from underneath. I have no idea what kind of weight is being pushed/pulled around on this tape, but I can say with 100% certainty that it isn't going anywhere! I still have a LOT of this tape and am trying to think of ways to use it. I'm going to tape a paddle mount and gopro mount to my kayak, and I have no idea what else to do with it, but it's too amazing/cool to not use. I was very skeptical at first because it is just tape, but...

steve s: Super strong stuff. Actually amazes me. I used it to bond plastic to metal, plastic to plastic, and metal to metal. You have to use it properly and not have unrealistic expectations. Its bond grows stronger over 24 hours. If you just stick 2 items together they will rip apart within 5-10 minutes. But if you let this set up and bond over 6-24 hours they are stuck FOREVER. Honestly you will have to destroy anything that this has bonded if it is allowed to cure for a full day.
I have clamped two items together with the tape in between and let sit for a day. Stuck for good.
Pay attention to what you are bonding. I don't think this would do a good job on foam, wood, concrete or other very grainy and porous surfaces. I believe that its strengths are plastic, metal, glass, and other smooth surfaces.

GregBGregB: I purchased this 3M product to bond some 0.040 aluminum strips to the aluminum trim on my camper project to finish the weather seal.
This stuff is amazing. The bond is quick so you had better get your parts lined up right the first time. If not, good luck getting them apart intact.
Overall I am very impressed. With proper surface prep and the right temps you will be very impressed.
Buy genuine 3M for the best results. Lots of knock off brands out there...look like 3M but aren't. Your results may vary.
