David R. Voth: I curse the fool who decided to import Carpobrotus edulis and related species into California. It was supposed to serve as an erosion-inhibiting ground cover, but in reality it often makes the situation worse by displacing native vegetation and pulling soil downhill when it gets wet. The state, in its vast wisdom, decided back in the middle of the last century to plant vast amounts of it alongside our famous freeways, where it was supposed to be practically maintenance-free. In reality it gets out of control whenever the winter rains come, and the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) spends a lot of effort keeping the stuff from growing into traffic lanes, over road signs and emergency call boxes, etc. Guess what the state uses to slow the invasive weed down - Glyphosate, the active ingredient in RoundUp.
I've used it around my house in San Diego with great success keeping my next-door neighbor's ice plant under control. It works well on the plant known variously as ice plant, Hottentot Fig, pickle weed, and by a few other colloquial names some of which are not suitable for inclusion in a review.

bnbn: I used other less expensive brands in the past and they were not as effective. You would see some browning and they would bounce back. But with this, it went brown from tip to toe in 3 days. And you only need to spray it on the leaves. I would stay far away from any garden vegetable though.
This also will kill any grass near the weed, don't spray too wide or you'll end up with dead spots in your lawn. Minus one star, not as targeted as I thought it would be. One option is to use Scott’s fertilizer, it has a weed killer component, sprinkle the grass fertilizer in the leaves. Or just yank the weed out, use a long flathead screwdriver to dig into its root.
