Phil Hopkins: This cat litter mat works well to collect dry litter. You must be careful when picking it up, to not tip it too quickly, or litter will go everywhere. I simply pick it up and carefully hold it over the litter box to empty the litter back into the box. The problem arises when one of our cats accidentally dropped a small piece of poop onto the mat as they exited the litter box. Getting the poop out of those tiny grids is not easy and takes up- close use of many Q-Tips to clean it out. Then, if you do not have a good wash tub or a bathtub, washing the mat is difficult because of the size and difficulty in bending the mat to get to the area needing washing.
I still use the matt and have only had two "poop" cleaning issues so far.

Anne D. GreeneAnne D. Greene: We've had this mat for 2 years now and it's awesome. Its firmer/stiffer than I'd imagined when ordering, but that's an observation (not a complaint). I really like that it has some depth and heft it to it to trap the litter so we're not stepping on the litter granules when we walk over the mat.
We use clumping walnut shell litter so got the tan version. The mat we got is actually 22.5" wide (not 23"), but still fits perfectly in our litter closet.
It's pretty easy to fold the mat a little width-wise to coax the litter toward the center of the mat, and then fold it lengthwise (as shown in the product photo) to shake the litter back into the litter box. We have the domed Cat-It litter box and fold the top section back to make it easier.
Our male cat is the type to hop out immediately upon completing his business as if the box is on fire (he doesn't even have the courtesy to cover up is messes), so he scatters litter all over the place upon hopping out. I'm super pleased with how much litter this mat traps. It doesn't contain everything because he still has some stuck in his toes as he dashes out of the room, but that's just an issue that no mat can...

Paige Munro: I had been seeing this item for a while every time I was looking for yet another kitty litter mat because once again mine had not met expectations and sometimes had also been devastated by my animals. What ALWAYS deterred me from buying this one (though it did sound/look promising) was the PRICE! $40?! I have paid that before for a mat before; but that was at the pet store and for a mat that I could have gotten on Amazon for $20. So if I were to equate this price to one my former mats, it would be $60, since that's what it is sold for in pet stores. I just wanted to try and find a good one for $20-$25! Well, I tried for YEARS! And while some of them were pretty good, they either just collected a ton of litter ON TOP to be spread to my floors, or they were a REAL PAIN to completely clean (and still didn't trap as much litter as I would like)! This one is SO different from all of the ones I have bought before. After trying SO MANY and forming a list of problems I had with all of them, I KNEW what specific qualities I needed.

Elfie: Ich habe die Matte vor unser Katzentoilette gelegt um das Katzenstreu, dass rausfällt oder von den Katzen mitgenommen wird, in der Matte hängen bleibt und nicht überall verteilt wird.
Zum Produkt kann ich sagen, die Matte ist perfekt für den Zweck geeignet, hat eine super Qualität und man kann wirklich mit dem Staubsauger oder einem Handsauger sehr leicht das Katzenstreu entfernen und aufsaugen. Durch das Produkt, sieht es einfach aufgeräumter und ordentlicher rund um das Katzenklo aus. Die Katzen (aktuell 4 Monate alt) fanden es am Anfang etwas komisch auf der Matte zu gehen, liegt aber vermutlich auch am Alter der Katzen, das war jedoch nach dem 2. mal nutzen sofort vorbei und heute ist es einfach schon völlig normal, dass es die Matte gibt. Von meiner Seite -> absolute Kaufempfehlung
ABER: Es gibt einen Punkt Abzug, da der Preis einfach viel zu hoch ist. Ich bin wirklich bereit Geld für gute Qualität auszugeben, aber es gbit Grenzen. Ich würde auch noch eine zweite Matte kaufen, aber der hohe Preis hält mich einfach davon ab.

J. Durnford: I've used numerous litter tray mats, and after the month of being utterly fed up of litter trailing all over the house, I ended up buying this, which is x3 the price of the other mats I'd purchased.
Pros:
- It collects FAR more litter than other mats do. I think due to the way its designed, it opens up the paws far better.
- Its FAR easier to clean than other litter mats. One's I've had in the past have been a nightmare to clean, as litter can get lodged inside the mat, resulting in you having to literally pick out each small bit of litter to clean it, and for it to not look disgusting. This mat, opens up, as you can see in the photos. I can very quickly give a quick shake over a bin, and job done!
- It's big, but not too big. It's important that your litter mat is big enough that you cat doesn't jump straight over it after exiting the litter tray. I found this tray offers the perfect size for that.
- Its very good quality, you can notice straight away its different from other brands, and other "most sold" litter mats on Amazon, upon inspection.
Cons:
I haven't found any yet!
Price:
It's a lot of money, especially for a litter mat. However...

C F.: So we have 3 cats and one of them is long haired. They all dig a tiny bit, but the long haired one especially likes to get the litter stuck in the hair under her paws, which means it literally gets carried everywhere (including the sofa when we're asleep at night). We purchased one of these mats based on the reviews to check if it was worth the payout to get all our trays covered with one of these. We have concluded that it's the best mat for cat litter trailing on the market. It really does catch the litter and when compared next to the tray that didn't have one of these mats the results were really plain to see. My only reasons for the 4 star and not 5 is because I personally find it hard to pour out. We have one of largest ones it is quite stiff and awkward to bend and I often end up with litter falling out everywhere, so I would advise emptying it outside. It is also quite costly, particularly with postage and if you require more than one I.e if you have multiple trays/cats and I'd say they'd probably sell more of these in volume if they were a little cheaper. Dianne DeSha: Outstanding! I've used a CatGenie automatic box for years now and love it. The only downside (and anyone who useds knows) is that the plastic litter pellets get everywhere, even with the hood/cover attachment, and they're no fun to step on in bare feet on a hard floor. They're clean, and sweep/vacuum up fine, so I've lived with it; it's always been worth it to me for the convenience. But I do keep looking for litter mats that will help with this (most are designed to catch smaller, softer litter and just don't do much.
If You Have A CatGenie, Get This Mat!
It's pricey, yes, but for the first time in over a decade, the litter stays put! I'm a convert for life. "Blackhole" is right! In the several months we've had it now, the only time we've gotten litter scattered is when I carelessly lifted it up to try to reach under because for a dumb second I forgot it had litter in it (*doh*!) Now, as I said, I have the hood for the box, so that limits where they can exit the box (i.e., right onto the mat), and the decrease in litter tracked everywhere is truly stunning.
(Given we've got the box in the bathroom it actually makes for a decent, waterproof, lightly cushy...

Mochalatte: I have 3 cats and the hunt for a litter trapping mat has been a long and tedious one. The Blackhole mat is the best by far that I have come across. It is a really generous size, and that means it fits beautifully under and in front of our large baby bath sized litter tray. We also have one under the Litter Locker that we use to empty the tray into. Usually whilst transferring scoopfuls of used litter into the Locker it would sprinkle bits of litter en route. This mat is equal to the challenge, holds on to any missed bits or pawfuls that might otherwise have been tramped around the house.
It is a cinch to clean too with the bits of litter falling through into the layer below and easily tipped back into the tray.
It is quite expensive, but it seems to be unlikely to fall apart any time soon (like our old mats did), so it is definitely worth the investment if you don't like hoovering.
If you have a litter tray - get one, you won't regret it!
