Joe Walsh: I did roadside assistance work and took a lot of pride in being able to help fix the customer's tire for a small fee of 20 or 30 dollars in exchange for making it so they don't need to get a new tire nor use their spare which is a bit embarrassing to drive around in. I always gave them my phone number and told them if it had any problems to just call me and I would meet them where they are and replace it for free, but I never got a call that way because these just did the trick. I bought several of the smaller kits in gas stations and used them all up so I recognized I needed a bigger supply. Maybe 1 in 3 tires I changed just had a nail or screw in it and it was very simple to plug it after I let a customer do it who had done it before while I watched and learned. I likely realistically did 50 tire plugs and usually charged 30 for one. You save the customer so much darn struggle by being able to help with that, it's totally worth it. You really have to get the metal tire plug handles if you're going to use them that often because it isn't pretty when the cheap one breaks in front of the customer.
