Perthenia Eilers: My son is not a fan of bulbs - probably because I tend to get way too many every fall, end up begging him to help me plant them all. The Power Planter is a game changer - he had so much fun digging holes, he asked why we didn't have more! We've tried augers before, and they were worse than just digging. This one is different - it was sturdy and worked perfectly. Fast and easy! I wish we'd had one years ago!

Pat: I bought this product for planting flower bulbs: lilies, daffodils, gladioli, etc. Drills a hole the right depth - fast - and loosens the soil in the process. Faster and more convenient than a trowel. I prefer the comparatively short length of this auger. It drills a hole deep enough to plant flower bulbs without going deeper than necessary. Made of tough metal.

Tony B: This is a solid well made product. i used it with a DeWalt DCD996 drill to plant several hundred daffodil bulbs, it worked well. I think you need a fairly powerful drill, preferably with a side handle in case it kicks back on you.

J. Cabral: I purchased this product to plant bulbs in my yard. After working with a shovel in the spring and finding out , very painfully, that my hips are bone-on-bone, I needed something that would allow me to continue to garden, but not put so much pressure on my hips.
This worked very well for digging shallow trenches for my flowers. I did use a fairly large electric drill with the side handle for more control. I did have to re-tighten the bit every few minutes of use, but that could have been user error 😉. The soil was damp, not wet. I am looking forward to using this in the spring when I transplant my flats of veggies and flowers.
I chose to purchase this particular item because it is American made and I believe in supporting our American companies.

Mark S.: This item cut my flower planting by at least one-half. However, I used my Black & Decker cordless drill the first time and it stalled out when the auger hit packed soil. I switched to my more powerful DeWalt cordless the second time and because it had the power and the setting required the auger worked beautifully. As the instructions warn, if you are not careful it can get away from you very quickly. I would recommend this to any weekend warrior gardner because it is quick, it makes the hole exactly where you want it and it actually mulches up the soil a bit so when you put the plant into the hole you have nice soil to pack it down.

J. Auton: This are quite sturdy but I would have liked another couple of welds attaching the spiral to the centre for ultimate strength but as long as you are not using it in very stoney ground it should be quite durable. Using an 18v cordless drill on slow setting it sliced through small roots of a bush without difficulty and created a good hole for planting daffodil bulbs. It also proved very useful for breaking up heavily compacted soil around the base of small trees to be able to plant autumn/winter bedding plants. Recommended.

Andrew Hindle: As a professional gardener I bought the power planter hoping to make life a bit easier. Well, this is a product that certainly does what it says. We absolutely zipped through over 3000+ spring bulbs in half a day. It is one of those pieces of equipment you have in your van or shed and are glad you have it when the need arises.
Worth every penny. Already saved me half a days wages for 2 members of staff.
Thank you power planter guy for inventing such a useful bit of kit. As they say, the best inventions are the simplest ones.

MJLinks: What a fantastic tool, we wanted to plant 100 dafodil bulbs in the grass verge outside our house which was hard after a hot summer and full of roots, with a good quality 18v drill my wife and I completed the job in just under 30 minutes with very little effort. It is so good I am thinking of planting another 100. It's a great tool, very well made and very easy to use buy one and brighten up some spring time verges.

Sharon Lamb: Love this product, wish I had got it sooner before I planted 200 bulbs using a spade bit on my cordless drill...
this makes a bigger hole...than using the spade.
really need to use it in combination with the longer bit...I also bought...
as you need width as well as depth!!!
sure makes life a lot easier using these.

Highly recommend them not just for planting bulbs..can use it for putting plants in hard to dig soil...which I tend to have.
