Cindy Kowalyk: I was hesitant to purchase the fettuccine noodles but I am glad I did. After watching a few you tube videos I decided to give them a try. I placed two packages of noodles in a mesh colander inserted in a slightly larger bowl. I let cold water run over them for approximately 10 minutes. Meanwhile I prepared my Parmesan lemon cream sauce with capers. I tossed the drained noodles in the sauce and cooked them for maybe 15 minutes. I kept tasting them and at first they had the texture of calamari- not bad but not pasta tasting either. After repeated tasting the noodles finally lost that texture and actually tasted like pasta. Sorry I don’t have the exact time as to when this happened. I would just recommend after 10 minutes of simmering in your sauce you test the texture and keep simmering in the sauce until the texture tastes like pasta. My husband is a very picky eater and usually I have to hide ingredients from him as he will not try it. I was upfront with him about this fettuccine. At first he tried it and did not care for it because he thought it tasted like calamari instead of pasta. nella m gasteazoro: With regards to taste - there are clear instructions to rinse the noodles. Having had plenty of different no carb noodles, I'm a fan of the size of these and how well they absorb the sauce. They have a great bite to them. For the complaint about serving size- I'm not sure how a person could assume that 1oz is an appropriate serving size. These noodles don't expand. Once again, I feel like that complaint was made by someone unfamiliar with these sorts of products. My only complaint is that I received noodles which expire in 2 weeks. We'll eat then lol but it would have been nice to receive something not so close to the end of it's shelf-life. Otherwise I love the noodles. Each 14oz pouch has 2 7oz pouches which is incredibly convenient. 1 pouch leaves leftovers for 2 adults.

JeepsterJeepster: Okay, so I read all of the reviews before ordering and thought, well, how bad can it really be. As a first-generation Italian, flavor and texture is critical to a good bowl of pasta, right? Getting past the fishy smell - easy! Rinse them in a strainer for a minute or so, this next step is important, drop the noodles into a small pot of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes, drain and cover in your favorite sauce. The noodles take on the taste of the sauce completely!! Mix thoroughly, and top with a little Romano or Parmigiano Reggiano, and all I can say is delizioso! My quick sauce - crushed tomatoes, a pinch of salt, oregano, garlic powder, a little olive oil, and a generous amount of crushed red pepper flakes. Mix and bring to a gentle boil for 5-8 minutes. I like to add mushrooms, you can add whatever you like. So glad I found a substitute for pasta!!

Pikake: They are exactly what I expected, don't stink if you rinse prior to eating, and do not have a texture like grain pasta because shirataki noodles aren't supposed to. They are traditional Japanese noodles, and in this case they've been rebranded for a different market. Most companies that have done the same charge more, and consumers buy into it being a new low carb craze product when they've been around for centuries.

Traditional shirataki noodles are available at my local grocery store, but maybe that's because I live on an island with predominantly Asian mix people. It's just that I find going into grocery stores with a muzzle on to be unnecessary torture, so I am ordering them off of the internet. At $3.60/7oz. pouch for this brand I will stick to them, but if the price starts to go too far beyond then I'll ask someone else to get them for me locally. (As of this review, you get three packages that contain two 7oz noodle pouches each.)
