GarrettGarrett: The media could not be loaded.  I installed these switches in all of my bedrooms. These are a game changer. They are somewhat easy to install, you just plug and play, I took these from my old house when I moved into my new house. This is one of the few Lutron switches that does not require a neutral wire, which is very nice and makes installing them very easy. The directions are simple and easy to follow. If you are putting this switch on a traditional ceiling fan with the pull cord and two separate switches, I highly suggest get their fan switch as well.

If you are going from traditional light switches to this one, you may also want to consider getting a new cover plate. Traditional switches uses a toggle cover plate and this one uses a rocker cover plate. If you are a person irritated by the slightest light, just be aware that the switch displays very dim green LED lights when the light is off (barely visible at night with lights off) and a much brighter one when the light is on, but hey the lights are on at that point, so what does it matter how bright the LED is anyways.

Jesus S: El producto en si es muy bueno. Me parece que es si no el mejor smart switch del mercado está cerca de serlo. Lo único que debes considerar ES QUE NO FUNCIONA CON DIFERENTES LÁMPARAS LED. Todas deben ser iguales. Compré varios para mi casa. En las habitaciones en las que tengo solo un tipo de foco led funciona sin problema. Pero en mi patio, donde tengo focos led de un modelo, lámparas led de 2 modelos ya no funciona. Se intentó hacerlo funcionar cambiando por los otros apagadores y tampoco, lo cual indica y como he leido que no es compatible con algunas lámparas. Sobretodo si usas con driver integrado y directas como es mi caso. Ten esto en cuenta.

I debated heavily between smart bulbs and smart switches before I purchased anything. After trialing these Lutron Casetas, I'm going (almost) all-in with Lutron!

I own a 1985 home and was interested in modernizing the general lighting experience as one of my next projects. Lutron has an excellent reputation in the smart switching market and after using them, it's for a very good reason.

These switches are a perfect addition where you want manual push-button light dimming capabilities. They can act as "fast" on/off, graduated dimming to specific levels or in my case, can be highly automated with external home automation platforms. They can also be used in 3-way applications, however, this requires the addition of a Pico remote. This makes sense to me so you don't get "smart tech fighting smart tech" in your lighting circuits.

When do you want to avoid a dimming switch? In applications such as pumps, fluorescent ballasts, garbage disposals, most outdoor security lighting, locations you might use a smart bulb and ceiling...

L G: Not sure if it's the marketing or what, but they make it seem like these are the caseta switches everyone should buy. However because of there lack of neutral they don't work very well with all lights. I have multiple different brand of lights and installed 4 of them and only 1 worked perfectly. Lots of people have these problems online aswell and lutron doesn't have much of a solution. If you don't have a neutral in your jbox then try this since it's really your only option, lutron wise. If you do, then get the pro, its only a little bit more expensive and it worked with all my lights, no flickering, no pop-up (where the light hits full blast then off then full etc). The pro seems to be more of a one size fits all. Of course the ELV+ is the best one but that is the most expensive one, it's the way LEDs are supposed to be dimmed, but the pro works just fine for me. Another thing is if you don't have enough wattage, like if it's for the stairs light or washroom and you only have 2 pot lights then the non-pro will also have trouble with those, so another reason to get the pro and improve your chances. Lutron is the best system, you just have to get the right switch.

Jody Wood: Lutron Caseta Smart Home Dimmer Switches - Happy!

I had recently been experiencing flickering with my lights on a random and more regular basis. My research indicated to me that it can be the switches causing this. As a result, I thought I'd look for new switches to see if that would resolve my flickering issues.

My research led me to the Lutron Caseta Smart Home Dimmer Switches. So I purchased what was needed for my open area in my house which includes our kitchen, dining space, and family room.

In our kitchen, we have 3 light groups. Our main group has 7 ceiling lights with 2 switches. We then have 2 pendant lights over our island with 1 switch. Our 3rd group, we have 1 pendant light over our sink with 1 switch.

In our dining area, we have 6 ceiling lights with 3 switches.

In our family room area, we have 4 ceiling fan lights with 1 switch.

Based on my research, I determined what I needed to purchase to replace my switches noted above. I purchased 5 new switches, 3 remotes with 3 wall plate brackets, plus the smart bridge.

The single switches were very simple to install.

Cudbard-bell: Embarking on the "make the office sentient project" I quickly discovered none of our switch boxes had a neutral, so the only option to have control over the lights was to use these dimmers which explicitly do not require a neutral. The existing fluorescent tubes were not dimmable (or so we thought), so I spent a few hundred on https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07C3YLLW8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Philips 469635 LED Instantfit Dimmable 4-Foot T8 Tube Light Bulb 2100-Lumen, 5000-Kelvin, 14 (32-Watt Equivalent), Medium Bi-Pin G13 Base, Daylight (5000K), 10 Pack), figuring everything would be good to go.

Sadly, when those tubes arrived and were installed, all I got was disco lights and no noticeable dimming effect. After some research (hours going through Phillip's websites and compatibility documents), I found a dimmable ballast (Philips Advance REZ-2S32-SC Mark 10 Dimming Dimmable Ballast for (2) F32T8 F25T8 Lamps), that was widely available (on eBay), and relatively cheap.

The REZ-2S32-SC ballasts only drive two tubes each, which was a bit of a pain as it meant we needed two per fixture. The ballasts instantly redeemed themselves, however,...
