James DeHartJames DeHart: The books are in great condition. Are they first editions ? Not really. In the attached photo, I have an actual first edition of the 3rd book, next to the new one for comparison. As you can see the pages are smaller in the new version.

That said, that’s a small detail (pun intended). I’m happy the artwork is original, and I’m grateful to once again own copies of the first two books, which were some of my favorite stories as a child. I remember just being terrified by some of them, something about them just got to you as a kid. My favorite story is The Vipper. I love how it’s a scary story with a funny ending, and part of it was the person who would read them to me growing up, did such a good job (I think it was my aunt and uncle who would read them).

Anyways, amazing price, my collection is complete, I’m happy. Lol

Shu: Some stories can be boring but most are terrifyingly nice. Recommended for 8-11+ year olds but nonetheless great book. Would recommend

ShayneyH: It’s coming up to Halloween and so I needed to get my scare on, so this was one of the books I decided to read. This is a collection of the three books, put into one to form this collection.

The first book in this collection (Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark) started off as a disappointment and was different to what I was expecting it to be like. There were instructions for you to give when you TELL these stories to people, like where you should speak louder, scream, jump etc, which distracted me from what I actually wanted, which was to read the stories. It took me out of that atmosphere and ruined those stories for me. These types of stories did slowly fade and you had the illustrations to always drag you back in. Overall, I gave Book 1, 3 stars.

Moving on to Book 2 (More Scary Stories), this is where I started to properly enjoy this collection and really race through the stories. There are several from this book that have just stuck with me and will do because of how normal they seemed and until boom. Plus because of how it could actually happen, which is the scariest thing for me. I rated this book 4 stars out of five.

Jon: The format I bought is a hardcover volume which contained all 3 books. I confess it's not as thick as I thought it would be considering there's supposed to be 3 books in this but the overall quality is superb. The pages are made with good quality paper and the bindings are well-fixed.

My package only contained this one book which I think worked out for the best. The cardboard amazon box that it came with was fitted to contain just this one book and I'm glad it did because neither the book nor the dust jacket was damaged during shipping.

Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase and delivery. 5/5 stars.
