JHS: My almost 3 year old grandson likes to play with some of my small pieces of family silver--creamers, small teapots, a dinner bell. I want to encourage him to play with water--pouring and stirring. So I ordered this little tea set. It's a winner! The plastic is sturdy, non-toxic, and dishwasher safe. He likes the bright primary colors and is learning their names. No sharp edges, nothing flimsy.

Louise F.: The set is made of a fairly strong and colourful plastic. A good sized set that will lend itself to lots of tea parties I'm sure. Even the humans around the tea table will be able to taste all that is being served. It comes in a box that depicts the tea set but I do have to say was quite surprised Christmas morning when the 3 year old opened it as it is all dumped into a mesh bag that is sealed and the 3 yr old asked what it was cause it in no way is easily definable as to resemble what the picture on the box shows. I think she lost interest at that point as she placed it aside and didn't show interest in it again until we took it out of the mesh bag, then she got busy with it. perhaps different inner packaging would be more suitable so the children opening it can see what it is at 1st glance. I will be checking other products before I order this again simply because it did not engage her curiosity when she opened it and even the little set she picked out at the Dollarstore was successful at that.
