Amazon Customer: I have two very expensive steam punk lamps I bought and they have in-line switches. The in-line switches end up melting almost causing a fire. These new switches I just bought I put together are a much better switch by far. They actually have a clampling block for the wires to fit into and be screwed down into unlike my original ones that just simply tightened up under a screw. The switch is far superior to my original ones and it actually has an indicator light there is power to the switch.

Amazon Customer: The little LED is meant to run off high voltage AC, so if you're wiring this in after a transformer for a small LED, such as in a salt lamp, the small LED will not light. But that's fine, this switch set is still cheaper than the other options listed, so whatever.

GS: Where you connect the wires, it is a screw pushing down into the wires rather than a square washer that is difficult to use. I'm impressed. Didn't think a little switch had the ability to impress me. Had a clamp to hold the wire from pulling against the screws. Switch operates easily. Third time I need one of these, I'll look for these again! (In case that confusing, the next time I need one I'll use the second one in the package).

Tinuviel7: We used these for our bedside lights which were originally in the living room and are quite big. Difficult to reach the turning switch from bed. No trouble at all now!

Amazon Customer: in the pic it looks like there might be more than one light. there isn't. there is only one. on the body of the switch. and it is only on when the switch is on.
there is a lense for a light that is part of the switch itself, but light never comes out of it.

i just had a thought.... maybe i put the switch on backwards. if i took it apart, flipped it 180 degrees and put it back together, i wonder if the light would come on when the switch is off and vice versa.

not that interested :)

Placeholder: Added to two wall mounted bedroom lights, so I could hang them high where we wouldn’t hit them while sleeping. However, that meant have to get out of bed to turn off the lights. These are not difficult to install, but having the wire cutters and wire stripper and a small screwdriver simplified installation. I don’t do much electrical work; I just followed the supplied directions.
