Ron: These are decent screws, except the material is a little soft. If you have a hard substance you are putting the screws in you better drill a pilot hole or you will more than likely burr out the screw top. Putting in 8 screws, I brred out the top of two the screws, so that is why I give them a 4.

Jim: The washer type part around the head is smaller than most other truss screws I have used and was hoping for. They still look nice and worked well for my use.

Millwright: They will rust, ok for the money. I come find blank screws that decorative anywhere else. I am not crazy about phillips, prefer a good robertson screw. But there screws do get surface rust when exposed to water but they are decent for decorative items.

Tim Tucci: I wanted these to replace screws on the black decorative plates on my garage door, which had surface rust. The originals were #8 sized. I thought I'd just bore the original screw holes out a smidge, but unfortunately I didn't think of the size of the holes on the metal plates, which were still for #8 screws. I couldn't find these screws in #8 size. Accordingly, we just used automobile touch up paint. :)
