R.C.: This is one of the few products that seems to have a large following for cabinet soft closers when wanting the feature in a cabinet door that has a euro hinge. I put a set on about 8 years ago on all of my home cabinet doors (phew! that was an everlasting feat). They work beautifully and I have not ran into any duds in the 10 pack bags. So, why did I give it a 3 star? Their website claims "about 50,000 closes", there are only 3 of us in the house and there is no way we have closed the cabinet doors anywhere close to 50,000 times in some of the cabinets that I'm changing out. I purchased 20 in the last two years and have replaced 17 of the original install so far. Mind you, I have approximately 80-90 cabinet doors throughout my house. I think the product is great and easy to install, but I feel like it doesn't last as long as stated. I can't say it is because the doors are too heavy because the doors in other cabinets have not worn out and they are the same size. I also have smaller doors that have worn out as well and have changed. I believe the product is of good value, I just know that they will not last 50,000 closes or anywhere close to that. kathy: Bought 2 packs of these to update my kitchen and pantry area and they work great! Installed them easily in a couple hours and they make a big difference. I’d recommend you loosen the adjustment screw BEFORE you install because it’s much easier to tighten than to loosen once installed I found. Best $100 I invested in my house in a while.

frequent shopper: Easy install once you figure out the best way:

Take a very sharp #2 pencil, hold the damper tight against the top and side of the cabinet (making certain that both flanges overlap the cabinet frame face). Take the pencil and scribe a line or circle inside the hole for the screw. WEAR a head light so you can see your mark inside the hole, determine EXACTLY where on your mark is the precise center and note it. Take a sharp pointed center punch (available on Amazon…or a sturdy sharp nail) I use a worn nail set which I filed to a sharp point. Hold the punch firmly precisely at the location of the hole center. Hammer it gently into the wood frame a few times…use this so the drill bit won’t wander.

Drill a straight shallow hole with a 3/32” bit, then back it out and hold the drill at a 65° angle and slowly drill a 1/4” deep hole.

Then hold the damper tightly in place, triple check it aligns with the hole, firmly push in the provided screw (I first moisten the threads and drag them through a bar of soap, then simply squeeze the soap into the threads with your fingers), use an electric screwdriver (again on Amazon…I really like the SKIL unit, $19), and...

Amazon Customer: Wife is happy. Bought a pack of ten to see if they'd work. One had a non-functioning plunger. Took the screw off, extended plunger with needle nose pliers, sprayed with silicone lubricant, works like the others now. Lubricant also made the noisy ones quiet. Added small felt pads on the ones that would not adjust enough to slow the doors. Bought 20 more.

Tony O: Great shipping and on the face of it everything looked great. Only as I started to install then did I find that on of the pieces had a broken end . . . . the bit that hooks around the cabinet edge to keep the device in place.

Sadly one of the 10 pieces was broken but apart from this, which is just one of those things, I am delighted with the Soft Close Dampers. They work! Installation was a breeze. For what it is worth it would be a plus if the package came with screws as 'Old Man Murphy' proved to be in charge yet again. I found that my supply of screws on the shelf were either too long or too short. Off to the hardware store, fortunately just around the corner.For me, half the time I was working with my drill — always predrilled for the screw — in the 'wrong' hand and the same with the screwdriver. Luckily I picked up a packet of Robinson screws that were easy to lock on to and screw in. Now I am no handyman as my wife tells her friends, but installation was simple, straightforward and successful.

Now to order 20 more and I want to add Soft Close to the rest of the kitchen.

At first, I thought I would not like the fake metal (plastic) look of it. But it's actually pretty solid construction. And after installation, it didn't look bad. Next to the chrome hinges, it looked like real metal.

Installation was pretty easy.
And you just need to adjust the know at the back for resistance.

Overall, satisfied with the purchase.

Zax: In our previous house we had soft closing cupboard doors in the kitchen, but in our new place no such thing! So we forgot they wasn't soft closing and BANG! Each time. I saw these and thought let's give em a go, soft closing doors once again, no more bangs!
The best part is they are so easy to install, and you can adjust them.
