Frank: these are terrific for cold brew lovers! add coffee grounds, put into the jar, and let it soak! I did not clean and re-use them and just tossed the bags after a use instead, but i bet they could be cleaned if you wanted to put in the effort.

Violette: It’s perfect almost…. There is still a hole after tying but you can easily fix by wrapping strings around top of filter. Aside from that it’s perfect. I personally think a ratio of 1 oz of coffee grounds to 2 cups of water is best. Though I think steeping it in about 75% of the water is best then adding the other 25%. I think Pete’s French roast is pretty good and easy to start with since it’s availability is great. I would be cautious for burnt beans and fine grounds as I think they produce unfavorable taste. Go with a coarse grind for all the best reasons. I steep for 18 to 20 hrs and when I remove the bag don’t squeeze it just throw it away. I use the all natural sweet vanilla cream at the store and mix in a little vanilla syrup to recreate the sweet vanilla cream cold brew from Starbucks.

Joe: I got this to use with a 64 oz mason jar to make cold brew. I've used many other methods in the past and this was by far one of the easiest methods to make cold brew coffee. The bags are very sturdy, I sacrificed one to see how strong the seams are and I was very pleasantly surprised. I turned the edges of the bag over the rim of the jar and held it while scooping in the 2 cups of coarse grind coffee grounds into the bag. To close it, pull the strings and then twist the top. Tie the top with the strings and you will not have to worry about any grinds coming out of the top of the bag when brewing.
The biggest drawback is the bag is wider than the mouth of the 64 oz mason jars and it very difficult to get out. To get around this, pour the coffee into another container (I usually keep the brew in something easier to use day in and out), then turn the jar over and tap the bottom like you're trying to get ketchup out of a bottle. The bag will easily work it's way out of the jar without much hassle.

Tinytowncatlady: I have been making cold brew coffee by sewing up coffee filters into a pocket, adding coffee grounds and then sewing up the filter. I had to make four pockets to brew a gallon of cold brew coffee. It was very time consuming and I still had to strain the coffee due to silt that leaked. These bags are awesome! I can feel one bag almost at the top for a full gallon of cold brew. The material allows faster cold brewing than paper filters. I have even reused a couple of them after rinsing and drying them. Will definitely purchase again. Note - I recommend tying a knot in the two strings that come out of the opposite side making a complete circle. Then I sent it and tie a bow to prevent the string from accidentally coming out of the casing. Also works great for reusing them.
