Reviewer: I used these for a highend book case I purchased second hand. They are strong enough for heavy wood-framed glass shelves loaded with books.

JenniferJennifer: These are strong metal pegs, I used 4 per shelf to hold approximately 18 lbs on the shelves. The ones i purchased are 6mm, they will not fit inside standard shelving boards with existing holes or into ikea shelving holes, you will need to hammer them in which may cause damage to your boards unless u want to pre dill them little more like i had to. But they will hold more weight than standard pegs and i they are extra long for additional support for shelves. Definitely recommended.

Coco: I had a couple of pre-2017 hemnes bookshelves that were borderline dangerous - if you moved the shelf in any direction, everything would fall down. Ikea's phone customer service is pretty much non-existent. I'd even been to the store on two occasions to ask about alternative hardware as supposedly, they were giving away 'kits' of some sort to help you salvage these old bookcases. No one knew anything about these kits being advertised online. Anyways, I found these and the 5mm pegs work like a charm. My bookshelves have never been sturdier, these are a perfect fit. Thanks to the seller who took back the 6mm pegs I had originally ordered that did not fit the Hemnes line!

EdVentureTime: I got the m to replace my IVAR parts. These aren't cheap knockoffs - side by side you'd think these were the real ones, and IKEA's were the aftermarket. They feel premium- they're cut clean and have chamfered ends and they'll hold your shelf until the shelf itself breaks.

Cthulhu: The 6mm pegs are still a touch smaller in diameter than my original Ivar pegs from Ikea but they're the best I could find on Amazon. They're pretty close and they do the job better than narrower pins from another seller that were supposed to be exact replacement parts. I returned the others when I received these.

Manta: I read the reviews and was careful to order the 6mm pegs. I bought them to support home made shelves for my new Ivar system (since I can't get them right now). I ended up not using them for that, but like them so much I kept them to hang craft supplies from. They are smooth, even, and strong. I do not have to worry about overloading the pegs or that they will ruin my supplies.

SherrySherry: After a couple of years, the Pine in my IKEA Hemmes Cabinet started to shrink. This meant my shelves were being held up by just a few mm. I ordered these to replace the pegs and now I can rest easy that my shelves won't fall off the pegs. These pegs are metal and are long; perfect solution!

J. L.: I have several Ikea shelving units in my home. One problem I constantly have with them is that the backings fall off and then they start to widen, causing the shelves to collapse due to the tiny support pegs that come with them. Normally, I would repair the furniture, but in one room I have a series of three Hemnes hutches that are all screwed in to the wall and honestly, I just have too much going on right now to be bothered with unloading them, unscrewing them, and trying to fix them. I thought, if I just had longer support pegs for the shelves, that would buy me some time. So, I bought these shelf supports, and they worked! They fit perfectly into the pre-drilled holes, and are ridiculously strong. They are holding the shelves up like a boss and I'm thankful that I get to put off dealing with furniture repair until I have more time!
