E & C: I always dril a pilot hole for any "self-drilling" anchors that are no metal. These anchors allow you to use any wood screw within their size range. The also make an audible "pop" when it clicks to expand so you know it's secure.

Jennifer Repac: These anchors are the best! So much easier to use than the standard type that just snap or get crushed easily. I did actually end up using a drill to help the process along, but you really don't need to. I was able to hang up my new set up towel racks in just a few minutes and they feel super secure. I would highly recommend these to anyone.

wandererponderer: Installed in the bathroom for my towel hooks and it works amazingly well! My wall is very thin drywall without studs but it is the only place to put my towel hook and so far it is very sturdy. I used it with WetNFix discs to secure this and it makes it super sturdy together!

Victor C.: Intended to hang mirror on plasterboard wall.
Quick delivery, but not with any official packaging. It’s not as strong as the metal ones. In my case, I found it hard to drill through the wall and eventually failed and left a large hole behind for repair. One of the anchor caused the wall to bulge out as the screw was tightening in. Will use wall plug instead.

Richard Bailey: Whilst when they work they're nice an simple you most definitely need to drill a piolet hole in advance as they can not self tap by themselves and I also had a few snap whilst drilling in, when that happens you're left with a massive hole in your dry wall.

If you're going to use self tapping screws, get yourself some metal ones.

🐆😺MeoW😸🐆🐆😺MeoW😸🐆: The media could not be loaded.  ... it goes in very fast by hand as shown in video ( unfortunately i hit the stop button midway since i was holding screwdriver in one hand and phone in other balancing on bathtub edge)...
Over the years ive used diff versions of these.. i found that i only ever busted one and its because i used a drill and had it on drill and not screw settings.. but honestly they go right in by hand..
The screws i usually do by hand too although a drill in screw settings im sure would be fine..
I discovered this type of anchor years ago when my curtain rods pulled out.. the ace hardware man said it was the only type id need.. ill admit i looked at this dumb little plastic thing and thought No Way.. but he was right!! Theyve never come loose!
Recently my shower rod came out and i was looking for these to fix and keep extra on hand.. i saw a video and realized they now have the breakthrough style.. previously if the screw was too long you had to run around and find a a shorter one!

These are my new favs..
Ill admit im not sure i heard the pop.. but i felt the resistance then the break thru..
HOLDIN TIGHT!!

Shop All Deals: Super easy to install just follow the instructions. I have used both cordless driver and hand to drive this into the drywall and have no problem whatsoever. They make hanging heavy objects on walls easy. Highly recommended!

Renan: Very easy to use, with a power drill you install it in seconds, no need to drill holes before, as it is self drilling. also comes with the screws. good for holding frames and curtains.

That Helpful Dad: The Toggler SnapSkru is a good option for hanging items on drywall but I would place it behind the Toggler Drywall Anchor. The drywall anchors are better because I find they are simply easier to use and don't make as big of a hole in the wall. The SnapSkru's do an excellent job of holding up whatever we've used them for and they are my choice if the Toggler achor's are not an option (for example there is not enough space inside the wall for the anchor to enter).
That said, you should be aware of the following with the SnapSkru
1) they make a pretty BIG hole in the wall
2) they take a good bit of effort to screw all the way into the wall - unfortunately I have found that there is a delicate balance between the effort required to screw them in and how much is too much -- because I have broken off a few of the screws halfway into the wall - not fun.
Nevertheless, the snapskru is a very effective way to hang your items on drywall and I have purchased it multiple times
