Trevor: I see way too many negative comments thinking these are glow sticks for the 4th of July type events especially reviews about the red sticks. THESE ARE MEANT TO EMIT VERY LITTLE LIGHT FOR A REASON, red light is easier on the eyes which when walking around at night it means you keep more of your ability to see at night. These aren’t meant to be a significant source of light, the best uses for these are reading at night or seeing around inside your tent. Again these are not meant to be bright on purpose, please understand when buying that these are mainly meant for survival/camping and emergencies not for children to play with.

Kelyn: These are not very bright at all, so keep that in mind for your use case. They're good to read a map or see inside a small tent at night, but not much else.

Michael RossMichael Ross: Product lasted same amount of time as yellow ones but yellow was brighter. Waiting for green but will assume they are just as bright as yellow.

ruski3:16: First - I gotta say, these last a loooong time .. mine glowed for well over 12 hrs
Second - not .. very .. bright - at their peak a glow stick i got from the Dollar Store was not as bright, but doable for a dollar and you get 3 WITH neck cordage which the Cyalume ones do not have
One I got from Walmart was just as good as the Cyalume, BUT it was more than $1 a stick ( I got 20 Cyalume ones for $19.99 from Amazon )
I put it up against a battery on/off glow stick from Nite ize and Cyalume didnt stand a chance - Nite ize glow stick MUCH brighter AND you can turn it off when not needed
I would have thought that the military would have wanted brightness over longevity, but who am I to say
Cyalume glow stick might've been better had it been filled more than 60% with magic glow liquid (80% full would've been nice)- lumens people
Plus I really dont think I'm gonna be needing a 12+ hr glowlight - maybe if I'm camping in a cave or something dark ( ok, winter maybe I guess )
Wrapping it up they're good for a buck apiece, but come on, how 'bout some lumens instead of hours

Liam Cafferty: These aren't as bright as I expected, but that might be a good thing if I'm in a survival situation in which I don't want to be seen.
They seem to be bright enough to accomplish small tasks, close-up.
Over-all, I'm happy with this purchase.

Sam D.: Lasted for 8-12 hours full power (rates for 12 but didnt check at the time), and for another 12-16 hours after that with minimum intensity. Still useful then if you had to mark ropes or tripping hazards in the dark!

Puts out a good light amount, but not useful for reading unless pressed right against the thing youre trying to read.

Rob Gaw: I have no problem recommending these chem-lites. They are bright and last a long time. Work very well for building clearing ID and markings.
