JimJim: I bought another chair arm cover that my Wife says was too rough on her arms so I returned. I searched Amazon and found these. She says that these are perfect. Very soft. Easy on her arms. Easy for her to install on the wooden arms of her chair.

There is no padding!
On the good side, they are well made and the included velcro strips make it easy to install and remove them.

C Pall: Got these to try to add some softness to a chair i inherited that had hard plastic arms. Was a little awkward to get it on and it tried to shift a fair bit. Softness was "ok" but not spectacular. Had more of a satiny feel without enough padding to really cut the hardness i was trying to get away from. As this was 1 of the few types that allowed mounting on the specific arm style that chair had my options were limited. It helped but wasn't as "wow" as i would have expected based on some reviews i had read ahead of time.
