Ellie Goldblat: Appears factory fresh and they work (I didn't test the charge capacity though). What I can tell you is that the blister packs in which they are sealed are insane. They could store nuclear waste in them and it will not seep out - - for 5000 years. You need to also order a professional knife set or industrial grade scissors or a shark with a frickin' laser strapped to its head to open them. I think I accidentally killed several small animals and severed four fingers opening the pack. Other than it's practically impossible to get to the batteries without superpowers, it's a great deal.

Stephanie Sullivan: These kind of coin batteries are the simplest of items in some ways. They come in standard sizes, voltages and fit well regardless of brand. The main variables don’t show up right away. These are how long they live before they die and do they leak and damage the electronics we depend upon?

For the coin type batteries I usually pick a brand I trust and know over saving a few cents on a generic. The Energizer brand is that for me. These coin batteries tend to be used in items I use rarely and in situations where they rarely get changed so reliability and a dependable life matter to me.

As a point of interest I wondered about the code numbers for the battery. I learned the first letter “C” is for the battery type which is lithium. The second letter “R” is the battery shape: round. The numbers are the size. This battery is a CR2430 and is 24mm in diameter and 3.0mm thick.

Because this is a commodity product from a brand I trust and I got for much less on Amazon than I found locally I’m giving it 5 stars. That’s good value to me.
