Helene Denny: I tried the whistle inside the house and didn’t blow into very hard so it wasn’t loud. I took it with me on a hike and blew a lot harder into it, It was Very loud, exactly what I need to deter bears.

Evan: The whistle is LOUD. I'll give it 4 stars for that. But as for being "a running whistle" the stupidity of having a lanyard that's far too small to put around your head and neck, too small to attach to a belt loop and reach your mouth in an emergency, and for the wrist it would not only be too large to go around the wrist without falling off (and too small to double wrap it), but whoever thought to call this a "running whistle" while failing to consider the needs of a runner... it's just disappointing. This lanyard is just in the way, it has no useful purpose given the ridiculous length. The price is right, the whistle is loud.. needs a longer lanyard.

Kate Plemons: I gave one of these to my teen daughter to carry with her, it is the loudest whistle and when tested it proves to be helpful in an emergency situation. I have the other whistle as well, it can be heard from very far away.
