Keith: I recently moved and I have a stainless steel scoop for years and years and years and I left it in the cabinet in the apartment when I came to a new house. So I was feeling pretty bad having to use one of those cheesy old scoops that used to come in the can of coffee for free I don’t think they even do that anymore and wasn’t sure of what it was doing. So I ordered this reluctantly and I came in and use that the next day and it works perfect. It’s sturdy I can step on it throw it jump up and down on it wash it practically do anything to it and it might survive a nuclear attack because this thing is built very heavy duty. William D. Colburn: My biggest criteria for a measuring spoon is that it needs to be durable. Something that won't burn, melt, break, bend, or otherwise fail prematurely. So things like wood, glass, plastic, and ceramic are right out without even giving them a try. Cheap measuring spoons bend though. Hard brown sugar is the easiest way I know of to bend one. This particular measuring spoon is solid though, and I can't imagine it will bend. It will probably still be a usable tool a thousand years from now.
I do dislike that there is no hole in it to hang it up though. I could add a hole, but it would be nice if it came with a hole.
