Rosiedaydream: Nice memories for my mum but I thought photos would be colourful as they are on the front cover. They are all black and white. Otherwise great

JD: I bought this for my elderly dad who has Alzheimer's. He really enjoys looking through the book & recognises many of the artists. There is sufficient written information about each artist for him to read as well as photo's. It has been a great tool for reminiscing & encouraging conversation. Highly recommend.

BuddingRose66: I got this and the 1950s book for my father-in-law who is suffering from dementia. We sat beside each other and I showed him all the photos from when he was younger. It brought back some great memories for him! It is not US based. It is European based but he still remembered a lot of the stuff in there! And the book specifically mentions a few United States items.

ArtsyMom: Great book for older relatives with dementia. We purchased this book for my 92 year old mother in law with mild dementia.
I can’t tell you how many times she’s mentioned how much she’s enjoyed this book. It has sparked so many memories and has brought her a lot of joy reminiscing about the 1940’s. She has shared the book with friends in her retirement community and together have shared stories of days gone by. Thank you for publishing such a wonderful book, it has brought so much happiness.

aliveoh: My mother is late stage dementia. Repeats a lot. Still interacts. Lives in the present. Born 1931. She absolutely loves this book. The combination of photos and simple text work for her. I've showed it to her about 3 times. She gets absorbed and repeatedly says "This is fascinating." Loves Clark Gable and Cary Grant a lot. She asks me who certain people are and says, "Oh yes," when I tell her. This book is a great hit for at least one elderly woman with dementia.
