It works, sure, but it doesnt catch everything and you kinda need to fight it... Good if you cant find anything better.

Plo83: It's a good product idea, but it would require a better handle. The entire rod is covered with small and very pointy bits required to catch items in the drain and keep them attached to the FlexiSnake. Most drains are not one-directional and while this wand bends, you have to rely on a small plastic insert that they sent you and a very small ''handle'' to grasp the item. My issues with it are that it's hard to control/move when the drain changes directions. If you're going in the same direction, you just push and it's really easy. Without a handle that is a bit bigger, you will likely prick your fingers. You could wear gloves, but it's already hard enough to change the position of the ''wand'' when your piping changes direction. You could clean this, but most people won't. I found nothing in my drains, but they were dirty enough to soil the ''wand''. I brushed it with a toothbrush underwater for about 5 minutes and I wasn't nearly done. I threw it out. It felt like my time was worth more than the time I would require to get this clean. Since it's not that amazing of a tool to clean pipes, I didn't bother. I normally do anything to be able to re-use items (if it can be done safely)...

RedStar: The item comes with a clear plastic grip instead of the yellow pictured...it slides and is larger diameter than the hooked thing it's on. I guess it is there to squeeze on to avoid impaling your fingers on all those tiny hooks. I ended up preferring the slight pain of gripping the hook material itself.
It does not easily rotate as described. It kinda does with some fiddling around.
But for it's main purpose of sticking in a drain and getting gunk....it does this well. You will need to insert and plunge several times to go all the way around the drain. In the kitchen sink...it was easily cleaned for reuse.
But as others have noted, in the sink or bathtub all that hair really loves to attach itself and not let go. I would argue that is why this is so good though. It does a great job in getting out so much stuff you had no idea was down that drain. It is very hard to remove the hair from all those hooks. Mostly doable so that you can reuse it eventually :)
So after 3 uses, a tiny bit of fiber was scraped off because of the drain plug friction in bathroom sink as i pulled it up and down.
I didn't mind writing this review because the bottom line :) is that all 3 drains...

Dan: So after living a few years abroad I return back to my home to a slow draining sink. It irritated me because it is stainless steel, and when I shave, the drain was so slow that shaving cream and small hairs would stick around and not go down the drain. I went to my local drug store and bought draino for single use, and it was a waste of like 12 bucks because it didn't accomplish anything. Desperation started to sink in, and my next venture was the FlexiSnake... I have white collar hands and disassembling the drain was daunting, so the flexisnake seemed like a plausible alternative. I get home slightly inebriated from the ballgame and put the flexisnake down the drain..... it fit fine, very little resistance. I gave it a few swirls and pulled it up. What I saw was rather vomit inducing as all sorts of "gunk" came up attached to the 4000 tiny bristles. Hair and unidentified objects. Totally gross, but like an exorcism, some unpleasant things just need to be done. I held the flexisnake over the toilet and scrubbed away at it to clean it with an extra toothbrush I had from my dentist. I use an electric toothbrush so it was nice to put my extraneous toothbrushes to good work besides...

Carl Spackler: After multiple bottles of Drano and Liquid Plumber never seemed to do the trick in unclogging some of my sinks, I knew I need to be a little more aggressive and get a tool in there. Snakes weren't all that cheap so when I saw this, I figured I'd give it a shot. The tool is flexible but not flimsy, strong enough to poke its way down the drain but flexible enough to go around the bends. The material on the outside is basically like the rougher half of velcro.
I pushed the snake down into the drain, swirled it around in there and pulled out some pretty revolting stuff. I didn't want to overthink what the heck it was that I just pulled out of my bathroom sink so I took some toilet paper and pulled off most of whatever it was. A little bit lingered on there but washed off fairly easily.
My only complaint was that one of my sinks was one of those big glass half bowl sinks that look like they're sitting on top of the counter, only partially immersed. The drain cover is one of those that you just push down on the drain cover to stop the water and push on it again to open up the drain. So, the cover, instead of neatly fitting inside the drain hole and being a perfect fit to...

'12: This product blew away my expectations for its effectiveness. I live in a small, old apartment and our sink was running very, very slow for months. We tried using some heavy duty Drano a few weeks ago. Drano was actually more expensive and more of a hassle as you have to wait to use the sink again for an hour or so. Furthermore, it was not very effective, the sink was slightly faster but if you left the water running for any reasonable amount of time the sink would start to fill.
I purchased the Flexisnake Drain Millipede and used it immediately. I only had to put it down the drain once, spin it a few times, and pull it back out. What I found was impressive and disgusting. I wish I had taken a photo. The millipede was completely covered in black hair and sink gunk from bottom to top. The drain immediately ran perfectly. I can run water continuously while I take my time shaving (5 minutes) without the sink filling.
The biggest drawback was the difficulty of cleaning the millipede. The instructions state that you should use an old toothbrush to clean it. I attempted this and made very little progress. While the big chunks were removed easily, the entire thing is still...

ExPatInAsiaExPatInAsia: I tried every home remedy and liquid drain cleaner that I could find. Dumped baking soda or baking powder, maybe both, and vinegar down the drain. My roommate who is usually the home improvement guru used a toilet plunger--gross. The plunger would solve the problem for one or two days max, then back to standing water. Nothing was fixing our bathroom drain issues in the sink AND the tub. The tub was getting so bad that it was dangerous to stand in the shower because the gross scum buildup made the tub so slippery. After I'd step out of the shower, I'd separately rinse my feet with soap and water, then step onto the tile. I was showering at the gym, rather than at home. I'm getting bad memories thinking about this and thinking about all the ways having a drain that doesn't work impacts your life.
Then I ordered this. I was convinced we were going to have to hire a plumber to rip out the whole bathroom to find the problem. We dealt with these horrible drain issues for months. I took this thing out of the packaging and immediately was unimpressed. I don't know what I imaged, but the "legs" are so small, you can hardly see them. It feels cheap. I've never solved a drain problem...
