Mike: Schools of wire coming a box that also can be set up to function as a dispenser. The wire gauge size seems accurate and fits snuggly in my breadboards. Only thing I noticed is the insulation coating is a little thicker than I expected. I'm using it to do Arduino prototyping and often or run wires underneath things plugged into the breadboard and the extra thickness of the insulation tends to take up valuable space so I can't get as many wires as I used to. It's a small challenge and I may look around it other brands but overall it's a good value for the variety of colors and the fact that the wire looks like it's tinned copper. I should mention that if you're going to solder this, the insulation does look like PVC and it will melt fairly quickly, so do your soldering quickly and at lower temperatures. I use a 384° solder on a temperature adjustable weller and I haven't had an issue. If you're using a cheaper soldering iron that doesn't have real temperature control you're going to have a harder time keeping the insulation from melting

John Day: This is nice stuff. However, the colours are not true. The "red" wire is almost orange, and in my application there is an important difference between red and orange. Similarly, there is a wire which is either grey or light blue - I'm not sure what it is supposed to be but I would prefer something more distinct. Otherwise, no issues, it cuts, strips and solders well.

Phil: 20 awg solid hookup wire for breadboards. I was surprised after opening the box that the individual rolls were wrapped with velcro to keep things tightly wound. 7 colors, and you get longer rolls than other sellers.

Upon initial inspection, the wires look very solid! (pun not intended).

The following novel is how I’ve come to this conclusion.

The boyfriend and I installed a Motogadget M-Unit Blue on his 1999 Harley Davidson Fatboy.

As we’ve worked on many projects together, I’ve realized we just don’t work well together. Two completely opposite approaches: He’s the type to do just enough to make it work. Anything AND everything else (even following the directions) is just a waste of time and he will not be wasting any time. I like my work to be tough enough to never have to go back to repair it. Unless you’re showing it off, you definitely shouldn’t have to think/worry about it again until you make the decision to upgrade (vs. upgrading something because it doesn’t work). Needless to say, we don’t work so well together.

It was both of our first times doing something like this. Naturally, I wanted to follow the directions, have a plan and a solid wiring diagram, all BEFORE we started. Well, he hadn’t even finished watching one video of a guy (who didn’t even install it on a motorcycle), and he’s ready to start our installation without a plan, a wiring diagram or one...
