I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning. This is a great little saw for homeowners and occasional landscape maintenance contractor use. I have bought 2 battery powered saws in the last 4 years with gas saws before. Nothing like a gas powered saw to get the job done! Echo is a great brand, been running echo tools for 28 years as a l/s contractor. Go gas be a man.

I'm not really happy about so much in the way of plastic parts but this machine cut with ease and started with light effort. I don't have a desire or need for a larger saw. Someday we might all be forced to replace gas with batteries but until then ill stick with my ryobi and echo saws why pay more?

I really love my new Echo Chain Saw, Gas, 14 In. Bar, 30.5CC.
It's easy to start and runs great. Even with a 14" blade, it has enough power for medium duty work.
It's also fairly light and easy to get into tight places. I've owned a number of Echo saws and this one is one of the best. I look forward to many years of excellent use.
A tip from years of experience is to always use non-alcohol gas, as well as add a gas preservative. I also remove all the older gas and refill it with fresh gas before each use, especially when it has been sitting for a while.

Update: 7-3-2018: Still starts just like it's new...switch on, compress the primer bulb 5 times...choke on...three pulls...choke off...two pulls...and it starts...after sitting for over a year. I just loaned it to my neighbor when they couldn't get their new Husqvarna 440E to start. Highly recommended...makes me want to buy another....lol. Anyway...just thought I'd let you know how my saw was working out. Still 5 stars.
Edit: This needs to be first...do not use E-gas in your chain saw. That's ethanol contaminated gas. While it will work fine in your car, it will cause issues in your little two strok engines. Just google it and you'll find lots of links detailing ethanol issues with two stroke engines. My saws and the rest of my two stroke gadgets work just like new...and still start as advertised, because I have never put E-gas in them. If you live in a state where you cannot buy gas without ethanol in it at a local gas station...then go to one of the big box stores and pick up a can...you will not be sorry.
