When I ordered these batteries I was a bit skeptical, there was a lot of negative reviews about people getting them in plastic baggies and them not being what they ordered.
I received these batteries as advertised from the seller, in their original packaging, they are not used, and fully charge out of the pack.
Beware who you buy the batteries from, check the amazon seller, more than likely it is a marketplace transaction.

Bought the cheaper brand batteries initially and returned them since they would not hold a charge. Subsequently purchased these Energizer batteries and they definitely hold a charge. More expensive but you get what you pay for. Worth the additional cost.

They are batteries...they either work or they don't. The better engineered batteries work so well, you don't even think about all that went into the battery, you simply look at it as a needed tool and use it accordingly.
However, this manufacturer seems to have stopped making their boxed battery charger (rectangular) for some reason. I had one to break recently and went to replace it but cannot find one with a good review from this manufacturer. (doesn't detract from the batteries themselves).

The packaging was pretty minimalist, but who cares? It's a bunch of rechargeable batteries, and they work. We bought a charger (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003SP4QAE/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00) and they work nicely together. The price was right, and the reason was probably because they came in what amounts to zip-lock bags, but they're the real deal. I don't know that the batteries hold a charge as long as commercial-bought disposable batteries, but they're rechargeable, and there are a lot of them, so as long as you have a few extra batteries charged and ready to go, all is well.
