Kathy: These work well for most uses, but had a bit of trouble with extremely hard industrial concrete. The concrete was so hard it wore down the threads before we could tighten them all the way down. No problem though, they were so inexpensive we just backed them out and drove home a new screw to finish the job. Make sure you use the right sized phillips driver and concrete drill bits to save additional frustration. These go through normal concrete like butter, really hold TIGHT.

gary assassin: I had some stone posts on a patio put in, topped with a piece of bluestone that I wanted to put lights on. I used the included drill bit. It was not easy. I had to apply a lot of pressure, but I was able to make the holes deep enough that these screws will go into. The screwed in snugly and are super sturdy. I have no issues with the screws at all. If you have a better drill bit, maybe diamond, you might have an easier time drilling the hole first. 5 stars for the screws, 3 for the drill bit, but I can't remove and stars because of an included drill bit.

John17K: I purchased this set to hang wall control peg board in my garage which are cinder block walls. Each Wall control panel has 6 mounting holes, and I had 8 panels to put up. I had to replace the drill bit after the 24th hole as it would no longer dig into the cinder block and instead just spun in place and got hot. As another reviewer stated, I bought 100 screws and would expect the drill bit to last more than a quarter of the way through the box. They should really include a couple of bits with each box if this is the quality they are going for. Regardless of the bit, the screws are AWESOME, just get a bit from somewhere else and you'll be fine.

Kevin V: Great screws. But the drill bit is garbage. Even when wetting it, still got a useless, rounded tip after about 10 holes. Thankfully I had my own bit handy to finish the job.

Amazon Customer: I use these when wood is "stripped out" and a wood screw won't hold (this is common on trailer door jambs). The quarter inch version works better for this but these also work well if the hole isn't too large. They go in hard (and if you are using them in a fresh install of a screw a pilot hole MUST be drilled, even in wood -- I have used some of these in a preventive measure on wood where nothing had been screwed in before and I needed something to be because they hold so tightly compared to wood screws) and they hold very tightly, don't eventually strip the screw hole out from force against it and cause the door striker plate to fall off of the door jamb like wood screws do in a door install. If the hinge screw stripped out due to force and age I would use these to reinstall a door hinge into the wall. I haven't used any on concrete or brick but expect they would do their job competently there as well.
