J. Rothenberger: I had purchased a hand rail that was to be mounted on an open end of one of my decks to use to walk between the deck and my pond. The rail needed to be higher to work effectively so I ordered these. They worked perfectly.

I bought a can of flat black pain and sprayed them to a perfect match.

spartanEMT: I've done some projects by using the pipe purchased from big box stores. Now that I've discovered the Amazon supply, I will never go back. This stiff is WAY cheaper than what you will get locally. Now, to be fair, the stuff in the stores is meant to be used as designed, for plumbing. Once you break way from that need, the cost to manufacture and produce these items goes WAY down, which equals a much lower price point for the end user. I started with one main project, but since have branched to several different DIY projects and this stuff works great. I used 1" pipe to make a handrail for the stairs, 1" pipe for my gym and hanging weights, 1/2" for shelves and miscellaneous pieces, and have some upcoming plans using 3/4". Its easy to work with and looks awesome when painted (I've been using flat black on most of my projects).

Knoxwell: This was our first pipe furniture project. We we working on a very large desk with a return. I did all the calculations and then started ordering all the pipe and fixtures I needed. Since we were new at this, I didn't know who to order from. We received some terrible pieces from GOOVI. They were thin, and covered in black almost rusty type coating. Returned every piece except those from Pipe Decor and TZH. Yes, they all need to be cleaned. But we never rec'd any pieces like the one reviewer that shows filthy black hands. Except for the GOOVI pieces. Cleaning is not something you can avoid. We just put a large Sterilite tub into our tub and filled it with very hot water and Dawn detergent. Let them soak for about 15 minutes. (Make sure they are completely covered with water... if wet and exposed to air... they will rust) Then we used a rag and washed each piece. Then we rinsed each piece with very hot water, wiped dry and laid them out on towels to dry completely. Then we used Minwax Dry Paste Wax to protect each piece. We ordered real wood counter tops from Ikea for the desktop and return. My husband is 6'5" and has 3 monitors on his desk. He now has a beautiful huge desk...
